From what very little I've played of Kingdom Hearts, I wouldn't say I hate Sora as a character, I just can't stand his DESIGN.

Akira? Seriously? Best icon ever. ♥ (I love that anime.)

27 I know how you feel man. I always try to make good posts but I seem to just sound like some kind of fabulous retard no matter what I do. Ah well, live and learn, right?

Haha, Pokemon and South Park secrets <3

And OP of 40 there are other people crazily into South Park. xP Me, for example, and the poster of 5. And I know people who were actually near/in tears at Kenny Dies/Imaginationland II. We just don't have anywhere good to meet up, I guess. *shrug* I'd be quite happy to chat if you wanted to

Yeah, I've been searching for a while and they're actually hard to find. They need to come out of hiding. I'm actually shocked at the comments my secret received

4. I like it when there are secrets about people NOT hating on characters. Cool beans.

15. I could say something like "aw, it'll be ok!" but when people tell me that I feel like vomiting, so ::hugs::

19. Ouch.

23. You mean to tell me there are two of me on the internet?!?

26. I am equally suspicious of and intrigued by this picture. It's really well drawn but it can't possibly be anything but porn, can it?

35. Is there a possible response for this person that doesn't include laughing at them behind their back? Or do you just not care?

37. I saw Pedobear and laughed SO HARD. Thank you OP.

45. If it does happen, I want to watch.

[identity profile] gyllespi.livejournal.com 2008-01-08 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
17. XD best misspelling of "posse" ever, I think.

18. I sooo relate to this. I took a huge anime hiatus after I got over my obsession with Tokyo Mew Mew, and Death Note pretty much reaffirmed my faith in Japanese cartooning/comics. I mean god. They're so much better than what I used to read it's unreal.

34. GODWIN'S LAW. YOU FAIL.

2. Me too. ;_;
6. Hey, I kind of understand there. No matter how awesome any series is, no matter how much they change my life, Pokémon will always be my #1. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate and enjoy and be changed by other series, too--you should give them a chance. Pokémon means more to me than anything, but I've found enjoyment and happiness in a great many series. There's no need to be closed-minded.
21. Aw, I can understand that feeling. Gurren Lagann is a lifechanging, amazing series. It's difficult to get into new things after seeing it. Just because you find a new fandom doesn't mean anyone has to move on from the old one, though.
43. I'm the same way, though occasionally the human deaths do move me. It's just...the animal deaths make me cry a lot more.

[identity profile] ariseishirou.livejournal.com 2008-01-08 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
10. Er... Huh. You realize he tried to kill himself, eh?

50. Does anyone in real life support Light? If so, I'd ask them how they'd like to be judged by the arbitrary standards of a single individual. If he/she finds you wanting, you die.

20, 25, 43, 45

[identity profile] rejects.livejournal.com 2008-01-08 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
20. I love them too.

25. WTF? There are lots of reasons why a charcter could deserve/not deserve someone. X is in love with Y, but Y canonically beats X. I would go so far as to say that Y does not deserve X. Or X has been devoted to Y for all their of life, literally, since they knew what the concept of devotion was, and would treat Y well in the future. I think X deserves Y for their devotion. And s on.

43. Just seeing that made me tear up. ;__;

45. Why? There are already games that do that. I think Kingdom Crack does. (or stays mainly in their own posts, although I have seen them go off to other posts in the comm and I was very confused.) And it's not really that funny. Just kind of annoying.

25 OP e_e

...no, that's not about "deserving," that's about Y being bad for X. There's a difference :p

Or X has been devoted to Y for all their of life, literally, since they knew what the concept of devotion was, and would treat Y well in the future.

But if Y doesn't love X back, then X doesn't "deserve" Y, because a person is not a fucking prize to be won.

I have the sinking feeling that a lot of them didn't actually play through the fucking game.

There's at least one person who apparently hates him solely for the fact that he killed off the Organization. UH apparently someone forgot that those were the villains. What the hell else was he going to do.

I was pretty torn up when Demyx died, especially so early. He was so adorable and hilarious as a character. Honestly, I think they shouldnt have killed them off, because alot more development on them would have been really interesting

4. Agreed. I have so much love for that series...

48. I'd buy more if they weren't so damn expensive. I know it's possibly because not enough people buy them... however, bear in mind, I can buy an entire season of Six Feet Under - whose episodes are an hour long each - for €25 which costs the same as a measley four episodes - 20 minutes each in length - of something like Full Metal Alchemist. It's just a rip off. I bought the series of Fruits Basket as it was €10 per DVD and I intend on buying a Death Note box set when/if it comes out though. But it's really discouraging me from making random purchases.

[identity profile] haleysings.livejournal.com 2008-01-09 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's because TV shows from the US don't have to worry about the extra expenses Anime companies do (licensing prices, dubs, etc). Not to mention the DVDs for those shows generally have already had free advertising in the form of a TV broadcast. To compare the two really doesn't make sense to me.

6-Sailor Moon is my Childhood. It doesn't stop me from enjoying new things.

10- I love Subaru. He's my favorite Clamp character ever. He's NOT a good role model for getting over things. I know this will sound silly to some people, but finding a healthier role model, even a fictional one, can help you get where you want. I had to take a good hard look at who I was idolizing and how it was actually getting in my way, not helping it, even thought they SEEMED like a perfect role model for what I needed to be.

44-That is an amazingly good point. ILU.

48- GOD YES. I won't be buying Haruhi because it's not my thing, but I'm so glad to see this attitude.

34. While I agree with the sentiment, and outright Sora bashing (and half the time I see it it's because he killed off the Org, and that's a whole other WTF moment I'm not even going to get into) fills me with rage... wtf at this secret. Just. wtf.

43. They actually fixed that in the movie, sort of. :( SEYMOURRRR ;_;

20. But almost all of the fandoms that 4kids has dubbed for... suck >:

21. TTGL is seriously amazing. Even now.

24. Weird, I like them. It's a good way to get to know new people~ And as sad as i is, it's not often that I end up commenting on the person who originally posted in the communities. I JUST REALLY LIKE GETTING TO KNOW NEW PEOPLE. IS THAT SO WRONG? D:

30. DDD: I-I love that series, but I don't think you should have to pretend to like it if you think it sucks... AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY FILLERS, I ADMIT THAT.

43. OH GOD ME TOO D| I cried like a loser at I am Legend when the dog died. My god.

See, that sort of 'subtle' pushing into buying things makes me put my heels in the sand, I'm afraid to say.

Also, I download series, and THEN see whether I like them enough to fork my money over to them. Sadly, this isn't the case with MANY series, and in doing so I saved myself a LOT of money, because let's be honest, anime is so goddamn overpriced that it makes willy-nilly purchasing only for the rich and/or foolish. $30 for five episodes, when they could've easily put the entire series on a single DVD? Just makes me go 'LOLSRY' that much faster.

Actually, I believe that both ways cheapen friendship because it shows the only reason any characters are together is because of sex. Not because they have a person to person bond. No, the ONLY reason they are friends is because they are secretly hot for each other.

And the main reason I feel miffed about that is because it's lazy writing. Sexual relationships are easier to write than deep platonic relationships.

For example, Buffy and Spike had an interesting love/really, really hate relationship up until season six. The writers couldn't figure out what to do with them any more, so *tada* sexual relationship. Ooo, edgy. It didn't make any sense but again, the writers were looking something new and took the lazy way out.

The reason why X-Files worked for so long was because of the complex platonic relationship between Mulder and Scully. It forced the writers to build a whole storyline around why the two actually gave a damn when if they wanted to take the easy route, the writers could have simply said the two characters were romantically hot for each other. There. End of story. Now onto catching aliens.

And the same can be said for many of the mXm pairings. I scratch my head and go, "Why? They are so much better when they were complex friends."

Re: 44

[identity profile] tealizard.livejournal.com 2008-01-08 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Romances can be as complex as friendships, and they don't have to be exclusively sexual, ie spike/buffy. I would LOVE to see someone come up with a nice, male male relationship, that contains sex without being completely ABOUT the sex, and instead dealing with the complexities of a homosexual relationship (which there are often more than a straight relationship).
