I've seen this picture before; I don't like MPreg, but this was only made as a sick joke. IMHO, the fandom has its creeps, but it's not as bad as you might think. Seriously. ^_^

13. Oh, WERD. I'm not a huge fan of Ashelin and Torn together, but Torn and Erol? That's something I can get into. It's not that I don't like Ashelin, but she's just kind of.. Flat. Just a stereotypical 'strong' female character. At least Erol is batshit insane, and Torn is an asshole.

N!S. Furuba was my first real anime. I fell in love with the unique plot, the different characters, the humor, and the music--don't laugh, I'm a music teacher. When I found the manga was coming out over here, I was delighted...until it went from being unique and different to being a stereotypical shoujo "everyone is falling in twu wuv with everyone else" melodrama. The sparkle vanished.

That's why I no longer really frequent the fandom. It lost its originality, instead opting for cliche.

To be honest, I was a little let down by the "True Love Saves All" ending. :/ I didn't HATE it, but after falling in love with the anime and hearing how great the open ending was...

I've seen some animes with fucking fantastic plots. Honestly? Evangelion inspired me more than half the novels I've ever read. So they have THAT for value, if you really must have it. Besides, it's fucking art. It's animation, therefore it's art. Open your mind. I know too many people at art colleges to believe that anime doesn't constitute as art.
AND ON TOP OF THAT it's entertainment anyways, as someone else mentioned. Just let us enjoy it and get over it.
Do you attempt to find the ~value~ and ~meaning~ of everything you see on television?

Only Yesterday? Tokyo Godfathers? Princess Mononoke? Or, for manga, have you read Blade of the Immortal? Lone Wolf and Cub? Eagle? Abandon the Old in Tokyo? Yotsuba&!? Love My Life? If you haven't at least heard of some of these titles, then what you're complaining about is not "manga and anime" -- it's the crappy manga and anime your friends are into. Don't blame the medium for your friends' bad taste.
