Some anime/manga does have no good art or intelligence to it.

...however. Say the only live-action show you ever watched was Eastenders. Would you say that all live-action shows had low artistic value and are unintelligent based on watched Eastenders?

Don't judge an entire medium based on shallow observations.

On a semi-related note, it's always irked me that Heroes is a very, very popular show but would be passed off as retarded if it were animated or in comic book form.

So all I'm saying is give EVERYTHING a chance at least once. Don't judge something because because it's anime, or it's live action, or it's from a different country or it's a certain genre. For all you know, it may well be good.

Agreed on Heroes. Yes, it pulls its inspiration largely or entirely from comic book cliches and archetypes. But, uh, that just means it would be written off as run-of-the-mill and disappointing or an X-Men ripoff if it was actually done in the medium from which it draws.

That said, I still love it to bits and giggle at it a lot.
