67. I find that fascinating, and I wish more fans would do that. I'm sure that there are more weirdos like us who feel the same way.

Psh I don't blame em if they've never seen real genitals. Genitals from both gender are UGLY.

20. I'm afraid I'll never be into it as a 'ship, but I do enjoy the idea of a crossover fantasy friendship between those two. When I saw the secret, I thought of a fanart I knew of you might enjoy - not shippy, but hilarious. http://dragonnan.deviantart.com/art/5-4-3-2-25014486

67. Nearly anything can be done as fanfic - you just have to be prepaired for few-and-far-between reviews, so if you really want to, I say go for it. I once wrote a fanfic that was a NATURE DOCUMENTARY (and got a few reviews)!

4: No kidding! I'm on a message board that's mostly populated by guys, and their discussions on my fandom mostly revolve around the intricacies of power levels, who could beat who in a fight, and how the author is rubbish for not doing it the way that they want. :\ Then I run back to LJ, where the ladies are discussing character motivation, writing fic for each other, and generally being silly and friendly. Fandoms full of girls seem heaps more social, it's nice.

26. OH MY GOD YES

36. OMG LET'S START A FANDOM TOGETHERRRR~!!! ♥ I totally have no idea what it is, but I'm willing to get into it if it's got lesbians! :D

38. Aww~ ; w ;

49. That is totally what my place is going to look like when I grow up >w<

59. Yes, and it's SUCH a turn-off. Ugh.

36 OP

[identity profile] deltashade.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
LET'S DO THIS SHIT.

As long as you don't mind downloading things illegally (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WQHI90ZV) and downloading other things legally (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5) so you can play the illegal thing.

Also I guess it's kind of pointless to stay anonymous now.

D-DO YOU TEACH AT SCAD? O__O

The monotonous, redundant Syler Secrets

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
I for one have never seen one frigging episode of Heroes (Ignorance is bliss, yes? Yes?). I have ZERO desire to do so. Why?

Uhm, gee.....

Don't you think for more than one second that you're tainting the viewpoints of people who have yet to make an informed decision about something/someone? Or are you just that fucking stupid?

Yes, you have a stiffy for Syler. Well done. Thank you for sharing that with the rest of the class. Your frightening, atrocious obsession has now officially made me wonder about (and question) the rest of the Heroes fandom.

Well done. Pat yourself on the back. and do humanity a big favor and become an hero

I was in a similar situation last year with a large-ish forum I run. Couldn't stand the moderators, though I liked some of them as people, and felt they were power tripping and biased. Even though not all of them were bad I demoted every single one of them. Maybe it makes me as bad as they but I can certainly say people stopped deregistering at the rates they were and there was more peace overall. Lots of people even thanked me for it.

TAKE IT TO COMMENTS LOLWUT

[identity profile] gomimushi.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
this is like page 11, and no one is going to care but....

I'M SORRY FOR BAWWWWING ABOUT ICONS AGAIN BUT I FEEL THE NEED TO PUT THIS RIGHT. D;

person who posted the secret that ought to be put into comments -- No, no, no.

celebrities, animators and manga artists are paid professionals who earn money for the risk they take by showing their face / drawing their artwork and sharing it in the public sphere. They have the backing of international copyright and the safety net of people who know what/who they are. They are famous so "identity" theft is not a problem. Recognition of the art style is not a problem.

On the other hand, what iconists do is no different from what doujinshi artists, fanartists and cosplayers do. They create work based on copyrighted material for no profit.

Contrary to popular belief, doujinshi artists and fanartists do not get paid enough through fandom to fund their own activities. Cosplayers spend (sometimes ridiculous amounts) of money on their costumes but never get anything back except their own self-satisfaction that they've done something that might make another fan smile. There are rare exceptions, but you don't know anything about a fanartist or cosplayer unless you ask them.

SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, YES IT IS VERY DIFFERENT.

RESPECT YOUR FELLOW FAN'S CREATIVITY AND ASK PERMISSION FIRST!!!!

The opinion of the original OP was "if you don't own it you have no right to use it" though. Which was what people were mocking.

Well...wouldn't recognition from fans through the making of icons and the like make them happy, then? Unless they aren't credited, of course.

I have no idea why anyone would even want to write a Prudence/male fic when Pru's story was basically 'lesbian has unrequited love problems, lesbian has more unrequited love problems, lesbian gets girlfriend, lesbian is pretty much never seen again and WTH was her point anyway it's like a whole separate movie with no plot structure'. Fail for whoever does that in their fics.

Meanwhile, uhm, you'd kill people and also kittens to end a problem that already gets resolved? And are you calling Prudence your girlfriend or do you fantasize about your actual real-life girlfriend with Sadie? There's evidence that Sadie was bi? What?

I...I don't even know. I try not to judge fandomlove, but you kind of scare me. Unless that was a ton of hyperbole in which case, uhm, party on I guess.

4. If you mean male fans, I guess I can understand that. But if you mean actual males in the series, wow. What is wrong with you? You're missing out on a lot of good titles with great fandoms. Most females in anime/manga are terribly unrealistic, anyway. (If you mean tv series/books/ect though, disregard.

19. lol Gainax. ♥ Never watch Dead Leaves if you haven't already. That's a mindfuck and then some.

21. Wow, I've seen a lot of bitching about Mute/Mytho/Mythos, Claire/Kraehe, Fakia/Fakir ect, but never have I seen someone complain about 'Ahiru' and 'Duck'. In the end, it means the same fucking thing, so what does it matter? I can see you preferring one over the other, but losing respect for people over something so meaningless is retarded. Enjoy the fandom as it is. Needs to be bigger.

22. FUCK YEAH. ♥

46. Oh god, I lol'd. So hard.

58. ...Whoa. That much fanart of Minato alone? Share the love, anon~ /shot

65. HOORAH, ANOTHER FEMALE (?) ASSASSIN'S CREED FAN! Now I just need to get my ass back to playing and actually view this scene myself. Such fail, me.

66. I-FUCKING-AWTS. Christ, I've shed tears over terrifying fanart of this man. Stop haunting my dreams, creep.

72. ...Whaaat? Maybe a few shallow fanbrats, sure, but I highly doubt a majority of the Phoenix fans out there would hate him if there were no Edgeworth, myself included. Mia is great, and yeah, probably a better lawyer, but I still love them both. ♥ Not sure what there even is to hate about him.

No, please, no.

Or at least make them real secrets. Like, say ... "I think Sylar has three balls and three nipples, that's why he is that way. CANON! TRUFAX! And it TOTALLY TURNS ME ON!"

Or just amusing secrets would be nice.

34. They're making a Batman anime? I did not know this... :D
37. Yes XD
59. lol... Yes. I mean really... what is that? XD
63. omg... I actually used to love that show so much. It's kind of embarrassing to admit (which is strange considering some of my current fandoms, which I am not embarrassed about (lol see icon)). I think I had a crush on Paris. (But I had not encountered slash yet at that point.)
76. Repeat. I think I've seen this secret a million times now :/

12. It creeps you out? Well, yeah, that's kind of the point.

20. I once wrote a weird AT Scar/Ed fic in which Scar basically turned into Vash at the end. Ed fucking a Vash-a-like was a strangely compelling image!

21. And when you get anal and priggish about OMG TAKING THE LITERAL MEANING OF NAMES!!1 you lose mine. What? What's that you say? You don't care about my respect? OH GOSH....

25. You're almost certainly happier that way. I'm sure whatever you're imagining for the end is more exciting than what really happened. :x

34. I hear you talking, but the words aren't registering. Pretty man much more important. Yum.
