4. There are a lot of uncreepy guys in this fandom, don't give up hope! (I'm not one of them as I'm female, but still)

21. And Itachi means 'weasel' and Ichigo means 'strawberry' and so on and so forth. Stop being an elitist bitch. If that's what they call her, then that's her name. If you want to call her Duck, then call her Duck and be done with it. Dumbass.

59. lol

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Is there AC fandom? Is there AC slash? Oh God don't tell me, I know I'm going to be cruelly disappointed.

Hmmm...and now I'm going to be thinking of pairings all night.

(Is it just me or is there a habit of gay men in certain kinds of series being portrayed as overweight with a love of jewelry? I couldn't help but crack up at that bit in AC. So subtle!)

too big 8

[identity profile] blinkidybah.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
or you could grow up and become the kind of person who isn't going to suck the life and energy out of your partner just so they can constantly be around to mother and make you feel better about yourself.

seriously, OP, that's not a healthy relationship in any way. wtf would you even do for HER? maybe instead of constantly wallowing in self pity you could spend some time with a hobby or interest and develop some healthy self confidence. :/

Re: too big 8

(Anonymous) 2008-02-27 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
True, I could use some self confidence, but if you have played Trials and Tribulations, you know exactly why I am seeking a "Dessie," if you will. It is mostly because I associate myself heavily with Ron Delite. Seriously, we're pretty much one in the same (except he's much cuter then I am D:).

In any case, I see myself as Ron for a few reasons. By day, I am MaskDeMasque, a strong, confident individual that makes ladies swoon and men look up to my manliness. I can carry conversations, connect with people extrmly well, and become freinds with just about anyone with the right amount of effort. But, for me, that is only a mask. If you look at me on the inside, I am a fairly weak man. I am depressed alot of times, I worry, and I'm constantly afraid of hurting someone with my words. But mostly, I end up being clingy and needy. I only take off this mask with people I feel very close with. Now, for the two ladies mentioned, they clearly fell in love with my mask, but didn't like what they saw under it. They didn't like the idea that they could be more manly then me.

Now, how does this all relate to Dessie? It's simple, really. Dessie clearly sees something in Ron that no one else can see when they look under Ron's mask. To her, she sees a man of strength and kindness that is unmatched in any man. She loves him for exactly who he is under not only the mask, but his core being. When people get to know the real me, I know that, when the time comes, I can be a man of incredible stench, virtue and kindness, and ready to support the people I love on an instant. Ron has this type of inner strength that I know I have. When the time calls for it, I can do some amazing acts. That is what I can offer anyone who falls in love with me: in the time of dire need, where things suck the worst, I can be there. I can be that pillar of strength.

I could have had many girlfriend by now. But I don't want people to fall in love with the mask I wear every day of my life. I want people to love who I am on the inside. I think she's out there. I know she's out there. I know I'll find my Dessie.

Re: 4

[identity profile] blinkidybah.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well women traditionally are more creator types, and we also put a lot more emphasis on social and group cohesion, which creates fan communities on which the emphasis is placed on a gift-economy of self-created items (look at stuff like quilting or knitting or baking circles for historical/RL equivalent).

Boys, on the other hand, are socialized to put less value on a cooperative group and are also socialized to be a lot more aggressive, leading to a clear situation in which they just fight with each other constantly about stupid details (wankery over sports teams, cars, etc).

I'd say both groups probably have same levels of aggression towards each other, women just sublimate it into non-confrontational forms more than guys, and they have more to do when they're not being fighting.

I call her Ahiru, thanks. Because that's the first name I heard for her.

Though it's not really the point of the secret itself that bugs me here - it just pisses me off when all sorts of people tell others what to call this character and so on and so forth. "No, his/her name is this!"

Seriously. People learn different names. So just fucking deal with the fact not everybody will have the same translation/name as you learned. It happens.

[identity profile] momogirl12345.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
18. I was just thinking how I loved that fandom because of the fact fancharacters could be "canon"! heck look at haku and that yellow haired alter ego of miku! How cool would that be to have your fan characters drawn and loved by freaking everyone?? Heck those two are even in a fan 3D CG fan animation of all the vocaloids!

I just wish I could come up with one to be used and loved...but I feel like I cant even really be part of the fandom because I'm not Japanese ;_;

10) Why ship Lelouch with Yoko? Kallen is so amazingly similar. Pink-haired girl who likes to kick ass and helps out the protagonist? And comes with lots of fanservice, to boot? It (http://images.minitokyo.net:8001/view/265149.jpg) could (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/image/CODE%20GEASS/CODE%20GEASS%20-%20Picture%20Drama%2002%20-%20Large%2004.jpg) never (http://www.theanimehouse.com/7Apr07/karen.jpg) be (http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/5607/mysteryobjectod3.jpg)! And no crossover needed!

21) Lol at all the people that missed OP's point.

Not!Secret 6. Well, if the early games weren't so frickin' expensive and hard to get hold of, then maybe more people would agree with you. Sadly, Suikoden's early games are not as easily accessible as, say, Final Fantasy's... and unless we got a chance to play them first time around then a lot of us might not have a chance to know the greatness of those early games (which actually makes me VERY sad). So leave us to our fangirlling of V please.

20. *thinks about it* Well, yeah, they'd be compatible... if they were in the same verse... possibly. But I still think Vash would need someone more the opposite of himself to balance his personality... and Ed would need someone who doesn't cause him constant distress and heartache.

50. Hell yeah... I wish they were real too. (But I'm just content knowing the actors/comedians are real and are in essence like their characters in some way.) Also kudos for making a Black Books secret... we don't see enough of 'em.

67. Hmm... that style of fanfiction might actually be something quite interesting. Were you thinking of going into some of the behind-the-scenes stuff that could have happened off-screen in the canon too? Heck, I'd probably be interested in reading it (as long as you delved into the character's psyche and explored how they felt about certain events then I'm sure it'd be very entertaining - I've have a similar idea for one of my fandoms actually... I'm sure it'd be much appreciated).

[identity profile] relmneiko.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, fucking word. Suikoden II never goes for any less than $140 on Ebay, no shitting. I want to play it, but not that badly.

If I recall correctly, I and II were re-released together for PSP in Japan... so ya, LOL, better work on my Japanese. XP

Actual this is in general cause I lurk here and I've seen this A LOT...

Quit whining about all the people who hate your ship. Seriously. Quit whining about all the people who are mean to your ship. I guarantee you plenty of people on your ship were crappy to people on opposing ships. So no one is a freaking saint.

My advice:

Grow some thicker skin, ignore people that piss you off, and just enjoy what you love.

Have a cookie.

#47 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-02-27 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Actually? I don't ship it. It just pisses me off when one of my best friends in the fandom bashes the ship mercilessly and thinks it makes her better than the shippers.

May I still have the cookie?

37) I would ship this, but seeing that particular adaptation made it really hard for me to take Don Jon seriously; every time he was onscreen I kept waiting for him to introduce himself as 'Ortiz, the Dog Boy'

50) OMG Black Books!

67) I don't know what fandom you're in, but that sound fascinating to me. I have a sort of similar problem, as I have ideas of backstory etc. for lots of characters, but I tend to write like I'm making encyclopedia entries so I have no way of sharing the stuff I've figured out. Which feels like a waste as I've put a lot of thought into it.

[identity profile] rhosyn-du.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)

9. I don't usually give a crap about who gets shipped with whom, but Prudence/XY chromosome character gives me a big wtf? And makes me wonder if that person and I watched the same movie...

16. Um...honestly? I watched that a lot when I was little. I'm actually named after one of the characters, because it was my mom's favorite show. I still watch it on the Hallmark channel, and if I could find a guy like Charles Ingalls, I'd marry him in a second. *blushes*

27. The Dresden Files = awesome. I devour those books whenever they're released.

54. Rilo Kiley is love. That is all. :)

Part the first!

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
18... This fandom sounds rahter interesting... isn't it a videogame? Anyone who can tell me more?

19. I hate sounding so cold, and while I am happy that something could actually give you such great strength... it isn't right that an anime is what drives you to attempted suicide. I can't imagine someone having such a droll life, watching a show is what inspires them to end it.

21. Heh, a little bit of a vicious secret, but isn't Ahirua just the japanese word for duck? They're calling her duck anywhich way, aren't they? I watched the japanese version, people called her Ahiru, Ahiru is what her name became in my mind. This isn't because I think that english is inferior to our nipponese overlords beautiful and exalted tongue, it's just because it's the name I heard. That is all.

22. But but A.B.A loves her key more than anything, the only way she'd ever tap you is if she took your body and inserted Paracelsius consciousness inside it... oh well, it's not like I haven't seen stranger secrets. And hey, she is rather cute, if a little bit pale and a bit too much cutter for my tastes.

26. Don't you think there can be someone out there who is just as good as Auron in your mind? I think there is.

32. Weird how Phoenix Wright can make even the most despicable of personality types loveable, somehow? Perhaps one could take it as a sign that even the people we're superficially annoyed by can have good sides, that we're just too stubborn or too stressed to notice.

Or perhaps not, since those kids aren't written by talented, funny writers but only by their own, shortsighted and irrational minds.

34. To tell the truth, Light!Bruce Wayne isn't really to my tastes as well. I mean, there ARE manga-artists out there who can design characters who look manlier, and Bruce Wayne is pretty damn squarejawed last time I checked, oh, any incarnation of his anywhere else. But hey, that's jus ONE of the designs and I hear there's going to be several. NOt htat it makes the pain any easier to bear, but at least one of them looks a whole lot manlier than... well, Light!Wayne up there. Silver linings?

36. SECRET MAKER! Say, five years from now, when you look back at this time in your life, will your reaction be pride over the fact that, even if you failed or succeeded, you at least ATTEMPTED to start a fandom or shame and disappointment in yourself that you didn't?! Are you willing to go the distance? Five years from now, if you succeed, are you willing to look at a fandom that may be full of wank and dumb fans who ship nonsensical ships AS WELL as awesome people who write cool stuff? Five years from now, do you think that you will see the time you spent on starting up the fandom as time well spent, or time wasted? If you want to create a fandom for this, there will be sweat and tears to pay! Are you willing to go through that? ARE YOU PREPARED TO SUFFER THE SLINGS AND ARROWS OF OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE? If you still do, but you're not sure you can do it, then try still... AND BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU!

Aaand that's the end of my gar speech about a secret regarding what appears to be a moe-SHMUP/Beat-em-up. Man I love the internet.

43. I see that as well. But in my mind, it isn't a bad thing, or somethign that is to the shows detriment. They hardly seem to be hyperchristian guardians of morale in that show, just people who love each other and can't have sex. It's... not really sweet in my eyes because it's really tragic, but it's something new and fresh, and I want to see where it leads.

46. Considering how mama's treated (http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=254), I wouldn't be surprised if she harbors murderous tendencies. Ha ha watch me be like the fiftyfirst to make that joke and link to that comic.

Part the second, enter the rants!

58. Man, I just can't imagine being a videogamefan without playing the actual game... but I can see it happening because, you know, in this day and age the games are the most complicated parts. Anyone can see fanarts and read about the storyline and watch Youtube clips of the storyline take place. But play the game, in this day nad age where time is ever so much money and there are so many fandoms competing? I can see there being more and more fans like this. Now, if they're a bad thing or a good thing... I honestly do not know. Personally I really think they're missing out, but I'm not gonna call them evil corrupters of my beloved videogaming. Don't feel like hyperbole tonight.

61. I'm going to don my BS-waxing robe and hat and say that maybe people are uncomfortable with it, because when they think shipping they think of it at the level of their own relationships? To clarify, they are sexual beings who, apart from emotional satisfaction also seek physical satisfaction in their relationships, hence they associate shipping with both emotional and physical and thus feel mighty uncomfortable when hearing about shipping tiny tots?

Granted, it's still somethign that can be overcome with thinking outside the box and I myself ahve no problems thinking that tiny little eightyear olds can be ever so adorable, but still, it's a possible reason?

65. ... Oh dear. Slash in an american-made action game? Now THERE'S a rarity, which I guess IS why it's a secret. Oh well, not like it hasn't happened before! I'm sure there're some fans out there who agree with you, though!

66... WHy u have to remind me of that. Can't sleep now. Gant will eat me.

71. Just out of curiosity, what canon and what OTP?

75. MAN I USED TO DO THAT TOO. But I stopped because I was mocked for it. I wish I had done it, maybe I would have more funky moves now than I do. IN short secretmaker, I think you're awesome. Groove on!

And finally, not!secret 5, what's the game called?

71 OP

1.) L-THUTH.

8.) Oh God Moe was sexy.

44.) Oh Hell fuck yeah. I think that was one of the main driving forces that made me continue the manga when it got so fucking boring during the Yotsuba arch.
