07. Because all pregnancies work out that perfectly?

28. I love that macro so much lol.

46. lol okay. Technically anything that happens outside of a book/movie/etc is non-canon. Some people like other possibilities, some people like other pairings. If you don't like it, whatever, but it's not stupid for others to like it.

49. DD: I liked the ending to Inverloch. It was sweet. What didn't you like about it?

63. I'm not an anime-basher, but I always tend to prefer mangas. In the case of CCS, I love both the manga and the anime (my first for both, lawl), and I liked her. She was cute. x3

49 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-05-21 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ellerton had an opportunity to make something more out of the da'kor race. Instead she has Varden and Lei'ella ship them off to some random place as some quick fix? As I read it, they're still the "bad race," unable to coexist with anyone else. Yet, at the same time the elves were able to "change for the better?" I don't remember being treated to that little development other than the last summary. Frankly, I would have preferred there be less fanservice and mention of the happy couples' spawn and more of the bigger issues like the da'kor, Acheron's mother, the elder elves, etc.

I hope you don't feel like I'm bashing you or anyone else who enjoyed the ending. I myself just wasn't satisfied.

2] It's not that I'm jealous of furries, they just weird the hell out of me. But I've talked to a furry before, it's not like I'm going to shun them just because I don't like it. In short, don't generalize so much.

13] No, you let a fandom consume you, it didn't leap out onto you and make you participate in it.

33] Fuck yes. Canon is so horribly overrated.

46] I can ship whatever I want, let people have their own opinions. You're wasting your own time if you think you can somehow persuade people to only ship the canon.

52] Your secret hurts my eyes. As cute as the idea was, I can't even read it.

68] Then just hide her under your pillow? xD Seriously, if you like her than just buy her. Screw everyone else.

75] So anime comes before your education? :/

81] I don't blame you, I love Tokyo Mew Mew <3

I totally agree, why so serious OP? Canon is like the guidelines for some fandom, but not gospel to many.

That is the reason why I can't bring myself to play Crisis Core. I heard it's a really good game, but I just can't get past the fact I know how it will end. I can completely understand where you are coming from here.

I personally am really attached to the characters of FF7 since it was one of the only games I found that had amazing character development and characters that I could really relate to and feel for.

01. I’m fine when it’s on live television, but if it's a series I’m watching online, or worse yet, a RPG I'm playing, I usually stop before I finish it. I’ve been watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time, and I took a break of several months before I bit the bullet and watched the last half-dozen episodes. Which were awesome.

I still need to watch the last episode of Haruhi Suzumiya...

30. That’s a very nice story. My plane-panic image is Marge Simpson in her “Let me off the plane. Let me off! Let me off! Let me off!” as you see her big blue hair dart back and forth, up and down the aisle. It calms me down as well.

37. YES! I know it’s supposed to be a run-on joke, but I want to go, “Shut up. Meg is awesome”. I hope she goes Stewie on their asses one day. Especially since I hate Peter times a million, he is just a repulsive jerk.

63. No judgies! I think many of us were “that girl” at one point. And that’s actually a pretty sweet story. I think getting over “Die for our Ship” is an important part of growing up, fandom-wise.

69. … *Sniffles* Oh, my SHOW. So ow.

80. Yes, that’s a lovely description. My mom plays that game for hours and hours. I still believe it is the most beautiful (art-wise) game made for the Playstation.

They age Caspian up but keep (some) of his character the same so he ends up looking stupid instead of just not having experience, Peter is having issues with being a child again and wants to be an adult, and Caspian has the hots for Susan. I actually found the Caspian/Susan part funny.

I think the best part was when I was in the movie theater, and at the end, a little girl was like: "...they're going to get married!" I felt bad for doing it, but I started laughing. (and no, they don't. The girl in the theater just thought pretty dress = wedding dress)

When I saw the first movie, I was able to keep an internal tally of all the changes that they made from the movie to the book. This time, it was more seeing what they had actually kept in from the book. Over half of the movie wasn't in the book.

...this isn't to say that I hated the movie. Peter annoyed the hell out of me, but I did enjoy it. The characterization of the Telemarine Lords and Miraz was especially awesome and not as talked about in the book.

29. Cyborg 009? VERY YES.
Regarding your tastes, may I suggest Konjiki no Gash Bell? :D

41. "The Sound Of Her Wings" was a thing of beauty. There's no shame in being inspired by something that gorgeous.

44. Crazy doctor. Need I say more?

62. Oh he's a sexy beast indeed XD Though as regular Myotismon he was one hell of a charming villain.

68. It's really hard to openly like moe these days, eh OP?

3. I wasn't even a big fan of X-2, but I agree. I didn't mind Yuna's change so much, but it was the "good" and "perfect" endings that destroyed the game for me because I felt it ruins X's ending and the whole concept of letting go of the past. However, it was a lot better than the other sequels/spin-offs you mentioned, especially Advent Children. I loved the CGI as much as the next fan, but I felt it basically invalidated Cloud's development in VII just for the sake of more emo-ing and angst. Also, I liked the X-2 idea of an all-female party, and the dressphere system was awsome. And, despite what others say, Real Emotion was an awsome song and X-2 had one of the best FF openings, IMO.

53. That doesn't make you a "feminazi" at all; it's a completely valid complaint. I didn't see Prince Caspian yet (I just HAD to get sick the weekend it comes out...) but from the sound of things it's just another case of "Prince Charming Syndrome," in which the producers feel that the only way to enhance a romantic subplot is to have the heroine in danger. You would have thought that in our modern day society people would know better, but apparently the same ignorance is still present today as it was fifty years ago. Sigh.

72. Roxas's story (particularly when he looks at Sora and goes "It looks like my summer vacation is over")was one of the few times I actually teared up because a video game. He could never truly live the life he wanted...

53

[identity profile] paperclipchains.livejournal.com 2008-05-20 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Nevermind that they felt the only thing they could do with Susan was give her a romantic subplot.

2) If you want to be one... be one. It's not like there's a test you have to pass. Just give yourself a fursona and start hanging out with the rest of the furs. Congrats. Just remember not to TMI your friends.

5) LOL. One hopes those aren't important defining characteristics during sex. Though maybe the serial killer one might come up in a non-con, omfg help me kind of way.

21) I wish fandom would make a clear distinction between the idiotic random freewrites which show zero craft or effort, and the fics which take an absurd and unlikely premise and clearly think all the implications through. As a person who aspires for the second, I hate that I'm often lumped in with the first. I wish they'd call themselves sugarhigh fic or maybe just crapfic.

That said, backarrow moar.

33) Oh god, I hate those people. Hate them. Sheer stupidity wrapped up in a flaming blanket of self-righteousness with a side of hypocrisy and nice tall glass batshit juice.

5 is regarding the Sylar/Mohinder ship from Heroes. One's a sexy serial killer, the other's a sexy geneticist. Most of the fic I've seen is actually consensual, oddly enough. :P
