Well, if someone hates all female characters on the priniciple that they're female then I think we have a problem. But hating a few and for good reasons (bad writing, annoying personality, lack of development, etc.) then I agree so hard. I hate how in some fandoms I'm not allowed to dislike a certain female character with being an OMG SEXIST YAOI FANBRAT. I'm also not allowed to like the girls and slash at the same time, apparently. Also, there's a glaring error in the way you're approaching that. You just said that you can't read a book ONCE YOU FIND OUT it was written by a woman. Meaning that there was nothing wrong with it before then. Get over yourself, or just never look at the author's name. Problem solved.

138. For me, it's that's some people judge solely upon whether a character has a vagina or a penis. Some would be quick to point out that, at least in anime, the females are usually "weak" and boring. Frankly, I think a lot of males in anime follow the same "RAH RAH I R TEH STRONG" formula. The most interesting shows to me have well-rounded and different characters, both male and female.

I really don't understand all the vicious Nina hatred in the fandom. I mean, Viletta and Orange and about half the Britannian cast are racist, and they don't get crapped on by the fans. I can't help but feel that if Nina were a vengeful bigoted nerd boy hopelessly obsessed with, say, Clovis, that "he" would be a lot more popular. I mean, look at Rolo, for crying out loud.

146: I know all the "I'd hit that" Joker secrets are a bit much...but I think the people who make those secrets KNOW that he wouldn't go all puppies and romance on them. Seriously. It's a crush on a character and they're having little fantasies about it. Fantasies! I'm pretty sure they know he'd kill 'em or mutilate them or whatever if this was happening in reality. Or, y'know, imagine they could be Ms. Quinn, heh.

And finding the personality of "would kill the person dearest to them..." etc. sexy is not exactly uncommon in fandom. How many people absolutely adore the most twisted and evil of villains? Loads! People post about it on FS because, hey, it does seem a bit weird...probably in the same way people feel weird about rape fetishes or other kinky things. Yeah Joker is terrifying. For some people terrifying also equals hawt.

Yeah, so you don't need to protect the dumb joker fangirls using your superior grasp of the character. Fangirling is fangirling, y'know? (I'm not a Joker fan or anything, I just can see where they're coming from.)

127- No, you're not alone. I was annoyed with Chris the first few seasons but he had his moments. I like Luke/Lorelai but when they got married in s7, I ended up wanting them to stay together. Only one Chris/Lorelai comm but it's inactive (never was active sadly). I totally wish they were more fic. :(
