Maybe 100$ over the 8 years I've been on this site.

Won't put a dollar value on it. But sure I'll buy a fremium path or $2.99 to get a version without ads.

I think a few hundred total. Flight Rising and a couple Facebook games.

I think I spent $5 on Pokemon Go when it first came out. That is it.

Zero.

I probably threw over $200 at Gaia during the years I was active and now I'm locked out of my account for some reason so I can never do anything with my spoils.

Re: How much money have you spent on "free to play" games?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I spent $20 on coin bundles a couple times over my two years of playing Flight Rising. But I don't feel bad at all, I pay real money for other games and if I'm getting that much entertainment out of something, sending a little something to the creators seems reasonable.

Then again, I've never spent anything on Pokemon Go and I've played that every day since day 1. I wouldn't feel guilty if I did, but it's just easy enough to get coins in the game that there's no need.

None. Even if I didn't realize it was a scam, I still don't have the money to waste on buying imaginary things.

[personal profile] syncing_feeling 2019-02-12 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing, only because I know it's a slippery slope and I'm bad enough at money management as it is. I still eye up the stacks of coins in Pokemon Go every now and then because barely anyone in my area is on my team and it's a bitch getting them through gyms.

Re: How much money have you spent on "free to play" games?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe $1,000 or so if we're counting every single game I've played over the years. I don't see tossing a few bucks at a game I'm enjoying as being any worse than the people who buy Starbucks every day: you're spending a few bucks on something that gives you temporary enjoyment.

Plus, if I'm really enjoying a game, then I want to support its creators so they can create more content for the game.

If someone says to you...

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
"I've loved you for years" is there really a way to interpret it platonically and NOT as a confession of (romantic) love?

What's the difference between preachy and nuaced for you?

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
In regards to narrative commentary on controversial subjects. What stories do you think do it well? What stories are how NOT to? Does it make a difference if you disagree with the overall message?

Favorite Bad Episodes

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
What are your favorite episodes of a TV series, or movies or books in a series, that everyone in the fandom hates but that you totally love? Ironically, nostalgically, sincerely, whatever.

Book survey

(Anonymous) 2019-02-12 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Some questions.

- How do you decide what book you're going to read next? Do you keep a list of books you want to read and go through the list? Do you ask around for recs/check online/etc. one book at a time? Randomly pick one from the shelf/pile/Kindle library? Some other way?

- Are you a one book at a time kind of person and you don't start something new until you finish what you're reading currently? Or do you read multiple books at once?

- Do you feel the need to finish everything you start, or do you stop if it's not keeping your interest? How long do you give a book to interest you before giving up?

- How do you decide to read a book? Will you read something just on one person's recommendation, or do you need multiple opinions? Will you read something just because the synopsis sounds interesting, or is it important to read reviews/see what other people think of it first? Will you read something that has not so great reviews if you think the plot sounds good? Will you give something a chance that's not your usual genre just because it has great reviews/it's been highly recommended to you?

Inspired by #5's image choice

[personal profile] syncing_feeling 2019-02-12 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
My partner said to me yesterday, "It's two different things. You know, it's like apples and pears." I said "apples and oranges?" "No, it's definitely apples and pears."

My friend's mum used to say "calm as a cucumber."

What sayings/proverbs have you or others gotten mixed up?
