Tbh I don't really get why furry porn is still considered somehow deviant weird when A/B/O mpreg knotting underage non-con incest stuff with otherwise normal humans is widely accepted in fandom. Isn't it weirder if humans have knots and not werewolves or something?

Not a furry, not into A/B/O or the other stuff either, just confused at the standards.

It's not a rational standard, it's a response to the fact that furries were so fucking incredibly annoying in the old days of the Internet that everyone still hates them 15 years later

I'm gonna have to go ahead and draw a line between "furry", which is anthropomorphic non-human animals, and humans doing weird stuff.

It's not really about how weird or supernatural the sex itself is, it's about jacking off to animals instead of humans - and in the case of furries, cartoonish upright animals with a distinctly uncanny Disney-esque art style. Honestly, I wouldn't even call your typical werewolf fare "furry" because it's not that godawful art style.

Still. Man, I’m so not looking forward to seeing people argue about the ethics of furry shipping when Netflix drops the furry anime Beastars in October. Fandom sucks so much sometimes.

I'm annoyed that this series I like is getting popular and I dunno why. I'm usually happy when it happens and my life long fandom is the biggest money maker of all time.

I love shipping as much as the next person who also loves shipping, but for the love of all that's holy, can we PLEASE STOP asking the actors about our ships! Let's be real, most of them have likely never heard of whatever ship they're being asked about, and if they do say anything, they're guaranteed to piss some people off, so they're damned if they do and damned if they dont. Honestly it's awkward and embarrassing. Looking at you in particular, Star Wars fandom.

This is why I honestly only ship anime/video game characters. It's too weird to think about real actors involved in this stuff. Not that people don't bother voice actors about it, too, but at least it's not quite as invasive (usually).

They also don't really get the fandom lingo, so getting mad at them for using a term wrong, or simply not understanding it is stupid. Just, leave fandom in fandom, it's best for everyone tbh.

Agreed. I mean, if your ship really, truly is canon (as in, even non-shippers agree that it's canon) then there's nothing wrong with asking a question about it (though it's still possible to ask cringy, inappropriate questions, even if your ship is canon).

But if canon does not ship the ship you do, ugh, for the love of god, please do not ask about it.

I'm an adult with fairly "normal" friends. My only other friend who likes anime is secretly a big geek, like me, which is awesome! But she brings social justice into everything, and is constantly ripping on shows for sexism, etc. On one hand, I agree with most everything she says. On the other hand, I just want to enjoy escaping into my silly anime world without having to ethically dissect them. She acquiesces that it's okay to like "problematic things" as long as you acknowledge their flaws, but I just want to quietly escape my mundane white collar job without having to be a miserable grown-up at home, too.

After reading tweets like https://mobile.twitter.com/AidanRGallagher/status/1117525553571962881 I predict (if TUA goes past 2 seasons) one day he’ll quit playing Five and have to be replaced. It would be a great loss and the TUA fandom can go fuck itself.

I don't really like Labyrinth. I love David Bowie and I love muppets but somehow the combination did nothing for me, especially the songs. But I'm afraid to actually tell people this because people love it so much.
