Text: I love The Great Gatsby for its plot and Fitzgerald's way with words...but I really hate the cover the book is most famous for.

I am very aware that this is petty. But the "classic" cover is just way too abstract for me.

Pictured: My edition of the book, which I like much better.

Bonus secret: Why is there no green on the "classic" cover? Of all the colors to leave out, they picked THAT one?!

My Vertigo-loving ass is still mad about this too. There were so many ways they could have explained her - Fish Mooney doing another honeypot-type trap, Hugo Strange cloning people - but they just... didn't. Ugh!

(And what about those creepy paper dolls she made, huh? What the hell was the point of all that?)

Since when does Canada copy everything the US does? They certainly don't now. They very much are a much more liberal, progressive place than the current US is. So I don't think it is that much of a stretch.
