I'm pretty tired of Asian characters getting drawn with massively darker skin than they originally have. And when called out the fanartists keep whining "But there are dark skinned Asian people" like that's what they actually were going for instead of blackwashing Asians according to their weird US-centric racial ideas.

Yeah that's confusing. I'm not american either. I've seen fanart for a mixed race (european and indian) character drawn so black he was kind of purple. Does america not have indian people?

I haven't even realized I've been annoyed by this but now that you've mentioned it OMG YES. Or just straight out draw the Eastern Asian with features that generally aren't seen on us. Or, when it comes to anime, take a cast of like 5 characters and draw them in different ethnicities--EXCEPT Asian.

You shouldn't have to take sex so seriously all the time. I know everyone glorifies and glamorizes hot, steamy, passionate against the wall sex, but to me, it should be okay to share a giggle now and then, to look happy, to even laugh.

The passionate OTT wall sex has a place as part of a fantasy but I do also agree with what you're saying.

Sometimes stuff doesn't work they way you hoped and you're both going to absolutely die laughing about it. Sometimes you get in from a night out together and rather than ripping off clothes and getting right down to it, at least one of you is gonna need to go pee first. Fanfic and indeed films/TV shows don't show the ACTUAL messy side of sex. I mean, I'm not suggesting TV shows start showing having to do the awkward waddle to the bathroom because you've got to deal with some semen, but it's good to acknowledge these things so people don't feel disappointed that their picture perfect Hollywood style bang ended up with you nearly falling off the bed, your partner's arm going dead and no simultaneous climax.

Are you talking about entertainment media and fic or RL?

Because I've never had "hot, steamy, passionate against the wall sex" IRL. Which is why I want it in my media. And that should be okay, too.

I read a manga once that was kinda like that. The girl was nervous and the guy made a joke, then they started laughing and got more relaxed. It was cute.

I find it really weird to see some of the Sims 4 modders being so successful on Patreon. While I don't think that I deserve free access to their works, I guess it goes against my personal sense of fandom etiquette to hide fannish content behind a paywall.

A couple of days ago, I saw an article about caring for your extrovert friends during the pandemic. As a super-introverted person, it bugged me because I can't remember ever seeing anything like it supporting introverts. I know it's silly and irrational, it just already feels as if society constantly centers around the extroverts.

Somewhere in the past few years I've just stopped enjoying books where the main characters are mostly kids or teens. I just don't think you get the same depth and willingness to explore darker or deeper things, at least not in the science fiction and fantasy genres. I'm just not interested in the typical teen melodrama issues, and invariably those will be the focus if the main characters are under 20 or so.

I don't like that graph thing about how much stay-at-home mothers should be paid because they're also maids, cooks, nannies, etc. Most parents do all that on top of their full-time work.

And no, I don't think parenting is the most important job in the world.

Most of the ladies other women drool over do nothing for me. (Muscles and butchness are a complete turn-off.) Most of the ladies other men drool over do. I'm a woman. Yes, I like women. And men. But I think if I talked about it in a space for queer women, they'd tell me I was just a confused straight girl who fell for society's oversexualization of women.
