Grad school Statement of Purpose

Grad students, how do you write a statement of purpose? I'm lost. I'm applying for a creative writing MFA. The examples of statements of purpose online are really different. Is this like a cover letter, a persuasive argument (like "You should accept me because I'm a nice person who never cheats at Scrabble"), or proof of your ability to write?

I got one. I noticed it yesterday. It is making sitting very annoying. It doesn't hurt but it aches and itches. I think it is an external one. I can physically push it back into my anus and then it doesn't hurt as much.

I am using preparation h, witch hazel wipes, and a heating pad. Not sure if it is helping yet. I am terrified of a future BM. When should I go to a doctor about this?

So I've been not feeling well for more than a week now. It started with the beginning of my hormonal period last week, which lasted until Saturday. On top of that, I had a migraine, probably induced by a combination of hormones, lack of sleep, and cheese, that lasted from Thursday until Sunday night.

Anyway, probably due to the tramadol I was taking for the migraine, I was constipated Saturday and Sunday.

Late Sunday night/early Monday morning I started to feel nauseous. I thought it was the constipation. But as soon as that was finished I was suddenly having the opposite problem and also throwing up.

I haven't thrown up since about 7 this morning, but I've continued to be super nauseous and my stool is liquid.

I just don't know if it is worth seeing a doctor. It is probably just all the tramadol/asprin/tilenol I've been taking for days, I think. Honestly I've had a lot of headaches lately so I've been taking a lot of asprin lately, so my system may be just saying enough. But then again, maybe something is wrong and I should be worried?

I've been put on ritalin, and right now I'm sitting at my computer and both my legs are bouncing incessantly. I've been doing this for like an hour.
I'm very used to stimming, but I feel like it's gotten a bit more intense since I started taking the ritalin? Has anyone here ever taken ritalin and experienced similar.

I use to be into master/slave and Student/teacher stuff when I was younger, but they both make me feel uncomfortable now.

Also I went through a lot of hypnokink stuff at one point years and years ago, which just makes me feel weird to think about it now.

Teenage girl/older guy. I absolutely used these kinds of ships to explore my attraction to adult-men when I was a teenager, but now I am an adult they no longer appeal to me at all. I still like age-gaps in my ships, but I want both halves to be adults.

Incest for me too. I was into the taboo nature of it as well, but through a combo of having to deal with far too many fandoms making it twee and schmoopy, and just kinda growing out of it it in general I no longer find those ships appealing.

I don't really have any, I don't think. If something was hot to me fifteen years ago, it probably still is now. The kinks I favor change, based on what my current OTP is, but I don't think I've actually gone off of any kinks.

I do find it kind of hard to get into het these days, though. I used to read entirely het, but ever since my first M/M OTP, my tastes have swung largely slashy, and pretty much stayed there.

I used to be way more into... hmm, not sure how to phrase this. Non-con that ends with the baddie winning? Like, someone is captured and fails to escape at the end of the story or whatever. I was into stuff like that in my early teen years, possibly because I didn't have the healthiest relationship with sexuality or maybe just because there was a lot of it available.
Now I hate it so much that I read a story that ended with the main character being mindraped into a happy slave that I closed the tab and wrote an alternate ending that involved him killing a lot of people.

So Donald Trump contracted covid, claimed he really learned a lot from the experience, made some tweets that trivialize it, then whipped off his mask for a photo op. LOL I couldn't hate him more if I tried

Satisfying/Unsatisfying Endings

I just finished reading a book that did not end how I wanted it to end (I will hold out hope that the characters reunite, love can't die etc etc TEARS :'( ETC.)
However, I did think the ending was satisfying to some degree. The last we know of the MC, her love interest sends someone to look after her (in a way) and sends her an additional and unanticipated gift that refers to conversations she assumed he'd forget, so if you're like me, you take the implication that her connection to him remains un-severed, despite distance and obligations and RUN with it.

What media (books, movies, shows, VG) has had an ending that was either:
1. Satisfying for you (your hopes for the end aligned with the author)
2. Satisfying for the story (your hopes don't align, but it suits the characters or plot)
3. Unsatisfying (for everybody involved)

What Are Your General Feelings Towards Optimism And Pessimism?
