122. I know what you mean. I don't judge 'hard' exactly, but I judge people harder on ships and fandoms than I do on anything else that one could possibly judge someone. I don't blow people off and say they can't be my friend or anything like that, but if someone's in a fandom that I think is stupid, a little part of me scoffs. If someone only ever ships canon IN ALL THEIR FANDOMS ALL THE TIME, a tiny voice in me says "boring!" Sad, but true.

132. I'm not a fangirl of his. I like him, but as for finding him attractive, he is entirely not my type. His accent's cute, but his face? Bah. Cookie cutter, in my opinion (I see where others find him attractive, though), and I usually don't go for blondes. I like him because he was such a lapdog to House, that whenever he'd stand up to him, it forced the watcher (even if it didn't always work on House) to realize how bad things were getting. I also find him funny - especially his relationship with Foreman. They're great.

101. Man, agreed. I just don't see the point of leaving Japanese words un-translated. Honorifics are good to leave in for manga, but if you watch the anime in Japanese, you'll HEAR the honorific. It doesn't need to be put in the subtitles, although for consistency reasons it might be helpful. There IS a middle ground here, which both translates correctly and fully, and also stays true to what is said in Japanese.

When I heard a dub using honorifics, I knew fandom had gone to far :/

One of the groups I've worked with has a rule ... they are not completely against honorifics, but the characters using them had better bloody well be Japanese. If it's a fantasy setting or Germans in space or some such thing, no way.

Ex.: I loved the fansub of Poirot and Marple in every other respect, but the characters are English (and Belgian) and are not gonna be san-chan-samaing each other. It grates.

160 I'd not actually seen that sneek peek before (I have now!), but after being a non-shipper with Lost all this time I became a Ben/Jack shipper during the final scenes of the last episode of S4. In my head it was a very sweet, co-dependant relationship and seeing Ben fussing over "which tie goes best with Jack's suit" only solidifies that image :)
