This is how I feel when I watch/read One Piece and see the word 'nakama'. It's translatable! But since it can mean so many different things... they just leave it. It disappoints me.

I dunno, nakama is technically translatable, but to me its always had a deeper meaning that just "friend". Like in Arlong Park, the line "Nami, you are my friend" doesn't have the same impact as "Nami, you are my nakama" imo.

This book came out when I was 13 and I distinctly remember throwing the book down in disgust after two pages. I was not impressed by this representation of a "young author."

I hope other thirteen-year-olds knew well enough to stay away, but it was a best seller, so probably not.

Also, it sounds like they're trying to be flattering and not suck-uppy. Just treat your fans like you'd treat your friends and they'll treat you the same way back.

122. I don't judge people on their ships, I judge people on how sane they are about their ships. There's thinking your ship is better than canon and declaring that the canon has become horrible because it doesn't recognize your ship, if you know what I mean.
