Oh, good, I'm not the only one. Frankly, I often like the show IN SPITE of House, not BECAUSE of him. Sometimes he's just a jerk, and I can deal with it, but sometimes he crosses the line into full-blown asshole, and I wonder if I really wanna keep watching. The fact that everyone around him--including his god damn boss--gives in to him doesn't help.

129. To be fair, from what I've heard, doujinshi artists in Japan have acctually gotten in trouble for their stuff spreading all over the Internet. I don't understand it when the government turns such a blind eye to it that Comiket is allowed to exist, but if an author asks their work not to be spread around like that, they might have an actual reason, and I do think it's best to respect their wishes when it's known. Otherwise yeah, I agree, it's fanart, when you make fanworks you have to realize you maybe don't have the same rights as someone producing more original legal work, etc, but sometimes these people have a legitimate reason for what they ask.

147. I don't get the Rita hate, either! Or the Deb hate (yes, I've seen some people hating on Deb; I do not get this). I think all the ladies of Dexter rock in their own ways. Like any good character, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I thought the Dexter/Rita wedding was adorable (even though I know their wedded bliss won't last), and I love the strong woman that Rita has become.

I love Deb. Every time someone shit talks her OR her acting, it frustrates me to no end. I love the way Jennifer Carpenter plays Deb. It's awkward and realistic to me. Like Dexter is so manicured and perfected when he speaks, taking the right pauses and saying the right things. Deb is awkward, stumbles over her words, paces things poorly and curses like a sailor because that's WHO she is. Not used to the spotlight and not used to speaking in front of people.

So... what else should someone judge a visual medium on? Honestly, is it less judgmental to judge it based on other criteria? Is it somehow different from not reading a novel because you don't care for the writing style? I'm sorry, but if a story is being told through art not liking the quality or the style of the art is a pretty big freaking deal. This isn't exactly like not wanting to read a book because it has a crappy cover.

Yeah, that last line was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. Like, really tongue-in-cheek, to sort of break/poke fun at the SERIOUS SECRET IS SERIOUS tone of the whole thing. So no worries.
