103. I hope not, he deserves a more interesting existence.

118. Let's go with 'awesome'.

imo, that would be the tragedy of it all - that he had such fantastical adventures as a child, but since he was a baby, he probably doesn't even remember it at all. i can just imagine sarah telling him the story as he grows up, but once he gets older he starts to think that she's kind of insane, because nobody else believes her either, and he tries to distance himself from her. but every now and then, while in the office, he sees or hears things that give him these vivid flashbacks and he can't decide whether he's truly crazy too, or maybe, just MAYBE, his sister was telling the truth.....

......oh god i really want to write this but i dont think i could do it justice.

108. Joker/Reptar?! That could very well be one of the greatest pairings to ever exist.

[identity profile] jblankbluth.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sick of people saying that they're "afraid of themselves" because they like serial killers. Get over yourselves. It's a turn-on to many, many people and you're probably not out there slaughtering hookers, anyway, so just STFU and live in your little fantasies and stop being such a drama queen about that shit.

Also, the people who play the serial killers tend to be hot because idk, they're ACTORS.

[identity profile] graziaplena.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, this, word, preach it, HERE HAVE TEH INTERNET, etc.

Seriously, there's nothing remotely edgy or frightening about wanting to bang a fictional character, one whom you see on a TV set from the safety of your home, no matter what they may do (again, in fiction).

105, 122, 137, 146, 158, 164, 177, 180

[identity profile] singing-sparrow.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
105. We're not talking Pulitzer-award-winning material here. Doctor Who, even back in the old days, was never intended to be the next greatest show in terms of plot or dialogue. Just appreciate it for what it is.
122. Don't be afraid! Say it proud! You have every right to, since NONE of us will be right or wrong until 2010.
137. How couldn't you?
146. Wow... what was your dad, an exorcist? That sounds fascinating, but I bet it wasn't the most ideal childhood.
158. Creative depressed Anon is depressed. There's not point in wishing to take things back- all you can do is learn from what happen, forge ahead and remember. (God, I'm sounding overly preachy today! Pardon me while I go hit myself in the face with a 2x4...)
164. I think everyone has a fandom. Realizing it, now, is a different matter...
177. It really is. *eyeroll*
180. OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT MOVIE!!! :)

One-word responses today, guys!

[identity profile] yui-hime.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
129) Shiru?

138) FLAAFFY ♥

162) Agreed.

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
114. Haha, I kinda do that, too. XD

159. Maybe this is just because I'm severely for Capital Punishment and I tend to like the whole vigilante plotline (I've never watched Dexter, personally, but it is on my netflix because I know it's totally my type of show), but I wouldn't freak out about liking a serial killer who only kills people who, well, kill people. It's not like you're rooting for Ted Bundy to avoid getting caught, or something.

[identity profile] herosquad.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
159. Maybe I'm weird, but I've never understood the angst about how Dexter is such an ~*immoral show*~. I mean, yes, it urges you to root for a serial killer, but it doesn't justify Dexter's actions by saying that HE is a moral character, only that the people he kills are immoral. In the words of George Michael Bluth, "It's a tricky gray area."

Or maybe my entertainment-centered moral compass has just been severely addled by years and years of absolutely adoring Sweeney Todd (the show, not the character). Who knows.

[identity profile] ranaeressea.livejournal.com 2009-01-12 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
When my brother watched the new Sweeney Todd movie, he said it was like "Dexter: The Musical."

153. You're a fucking idiot. The movie was about the marines who landed on Iwo Jima and put that flag up on Mount Suribachi. None of them were black. One was an American Indian. And you fail to mention how he made that other movie, Letters from Iwo Jima, about the Japanese. Holy shit. He made a movie about Asian people.

Newsflash (in large letters so you can understand the fucking obvious):

THE STORY WAS ABOUT THE MARINES IN WORLD WAR II. A SEGREGATED INSTITUTION. MAYBE CLINT EASTWOOD SHOULD WAVE HIS MAGIC FAIRY WAND AND CHANGE HISTORY TO MAKE IDIOTS LIKE YOU AND SPIKE LEE HAPPY, RIGHT? LET'S MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT QUEEN ELIZABETH AND MAKE ONE OF HER ADVISORS BLACK SO WE DON'T ~OFFEND~ ANYONE. OR HEY, WE CAN MAKE A KUNG FU MOVIE SET IN ANCIENT CHINA AND MAKE SOME OF THE CHARACTERS WHITE/BLACK/BROWN/GREEN SO NO ONE GETS OFFENDED.

Idiot.

135: I agree. Ellen Page actually has character, talent, and beauty.

164: I sometimes wonder the same thing. When people respond negatively toward my "obsessions," I can't help but think that they are missing out on so many wonderful emotions and things to look forward to that fandom brings.

Re: 135 & 164

[identity profile] 37-soul-sister.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
to clarify, I'm not saying that I feel empty without a fandom, but just that it's so enjoyable, I feel bad for people who don't get that excited about anything. Remember, a fandom can be for anything. It's just another way of saying a passion. And I feel bad for people who don't really feel passionate about anything.

I know it's not a bad thing, but after being flamed by Kataangers for shipping Zutara, I'd be rather scared to try to join any Kataang communities, regardless of any friends holding me back.

I feel the same way you do, but going through tough times is no excuse to give up. Eventually things will get better, even if it's just because they can't get worse forever. You can't lose that music or those shows, and if that's what you need to keep it together, then by all means, use them... Eventually you'll remember that things back then weren't as great as you thought they were... And the things coming up are better than they could ever be. Ps. I love Barenaked Ladies too.

This, too, shall pass.

126. Well... it's sorta like Yami/Yugi, but it would be a little like screwing yourself o_O It's kinda hawt though :P

140. Shego is so hawt to me. SHE should have been in charge, not... the other guy (sorry, haven't watched Kim Possible in awhile, heh)

155. Read the manga, it is WAY better. And a LOT longer! ^_^ *goes to find Loveless mange online*

163. No.... Gabrielle has to be in the MIDDLE! :D

164. Same here... I don't get it =/

176. Scary music eh? I should go back and listen to it again...

184. I was scared of the first one when I was around... 8 or 9. But now when I play RE4 I just jump a little bit. Other than that it just a blast! :D

107 - *guffaw*

112 - Fandom icons are serious business...

119 - I think Batman TAS was the best, though I loved Batman Beyond as well.

135 - Don't know who she is, but she is pretty.

140 - Poison Ivy is the shit!

147 - ... I love you for this. Seriously, I do. *off to do the same*

153 - Fully agreed, though I tend to avoid his shit now. Fucker couldn't take Spike Lee calling him on his shit.

166 - I like both, but I understand when people are interested in one and not the other. *shrug* Preference. Do you equally judge those that like Het and hate slash?

172 - I can't stand that douchebag.

[identity profile] milo1047.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
153. Um, what? It wasn't "his shit." It was a movie about the segregated US Marine Corps in World War II. About three specific marines, in fact. One of whom was an American Indian. How is that racist?

164. Everyone has a fandom. It's just that sometimes, people's fandoms are, I don't know, crochet, or cars, or accountancy, or science, or coding. Everyone has something they obsess about during their free time. We just blabber about it more.
