107. He is? Seriously? That sucks.

114. So do I.

120. As soon as I read the first line of your secret, my brain went "hey (hey) you (you), I don't like your girlfriend!" and now that's stuck in my head. Dammit.

170. Fandom!Secrets is like Spiderman in a way?

[identity profile] januaried.livejournal.com 2009-02-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know exactly what you mean. The batshit crazy fans are scaring me off of anything in SV fandom having to do with Chloe, because I'm primarily a Lois and Clois fan. Why can't we all just be friends, srsly? *hides from the crazy*

I was going to post this logged-in, but I think it qualifies as over-sharing.

But this secret could have been made by me. I've just been thinking about this. And I wish it didn't make me feel like such a loser, but it's nice to know there's someone else out there who's admittedly like this.

It depends. Do you actually need to know facts for your exam?

If yes, then, no, it wouldn't help you.

I find out any celeb is any religion and I think less of them. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Scientologists, it doesn't matter. I guess I don't discriminate because I look down on them all.

Re: 109

Actually, you'd call that discrimination against religious people.

101. For me, this secret ends after 'for the first time in YEARS.' Because I'm a geek and watch them all the time. I'll be watching them tomorrow, in fact.

104. I do this too. It's just hard to read badly formatted fic. If you're really worried about it, take the time to paste it into a word document and reformat it yourself. I've done that a few times.

109. Was Mister Rogers really a scientologist? Hm. You learn something new every day. Also, I find scientology to be unhealthy and dangerous in a way that actual religions can only dream of being. So no, I wouldn't say it about Christians or Muslims or Jews, but I might about a scientologist. Because that's a cult, and I can't help but feel that they're gonna be drinking the Kool Aide soon.

110. Clever. I'll be watching this after I'm done here at f!s.

116. You are clever in the way that 110's OP is.

122. Hi, we have the same opinion! Actually, I've always thought he was overrated, but now I'm really going O_o over his popularity.

128. Then I'd lol at the expression you'd have upon seeing her in Carharts.

137. I would just like to sincerely thank you for putting this image in my head. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

139. I find the actual, secret reason to be less pathetic than the fake reason you let your friends believe.

146. Never too late to love Johnny. Also, coming from someone who USED to dress the part but can't anymore because of finance (it's fucking expensive to dress like a social outcast anymore!) I really consider being 'goth' and 'punk' and all those other fun stereotypes to be more a state of mind influenced or inspired by the kind of music you listen to. I understand that it's a fashion, too, but because I still listen to the music, I still associate as a punk even though I don't look the part.

151. I DID TOO, BB. You are not alone.

170. I think it's probably more your sexual preference that's turning you gay, if in fact it's happening at all.

109. $cientology simply doesn't fit into the same category as the other religions you list here. Germany refuse to even recognise the cult as a religion, and one can only hope that in time other countries will follow suit. It is a dangerous organisation which targets the emotionally frail, bankrupts them, and the quite often discards them.

$cientology attracts people in by slow stages with personality tests and things which give the simple promise of help and friendship for those having a hard time in life. It then works by suggesting further courses which incrememntally increase in price, making people psychologically dependent on 'the tech', then charging them so much money that they become financially dependent on the cult too.

They have a process called disconnection (http://www.solitarytrees.net/pickets/odhran/index.htm) which seperates members of the cult from family who would help them.

Scientologists have subjected those who've spoken out against the practices of the cult to years of sustained and planned psychological torture. (http://www.xenu.net/archive/personal_story/paulette_cooper/)

Scientology kills (www.whyaretheydead.net)

Many members of Scientology are victims, and it's not fair to hate on them
for having been sucked in, but the cult as a whole is a harmful, cruel money-making scheme for those at the top.

oh my god, I just got into Merlin and I. SHIP. EVERYONE. Except maybe Gaius, because he is old and I am still a fangirl and most fangirls have a problem writing old guys into sex, idk.

And wtf, who compares Arthur/Merlin to Harry/Draco or Clark/Lex? um, they're friend now, unlike Harry and Draco, and they're friends later, unlike Clark and Lex. The only similarities are the extreme amounts of sexy.

This is all true, but I would steal read a fic where Merlin was a Kansas farmboy and Arthur was the bald son of an evil mastermind. NINE TIMES.

(Although a fic where Merlin was a Yorkshire farmboy and Arthur was the bald son of an evil mastermind who had to wear knitted caps to stop his head freezing would be more geographically correct and possibly more hilarious.)

I'm not sure which cultural context you're referring to, but there's a whole social stigma and a culture of shame attached to the otaku label. Most otaku aren't really open about the things they love in real life.

102. Silent protagonists are supposed to represent "you," so I don't think it's that weird. Also, I'm not familiar with that game, but I always think of them as having -- implied personalities based on the way the other characters react to them? The personality's there, it's just shown in a different way.

158. Yeah, well, as long as you realize it goes both ways and people have the right to like what you're offended by, I'm pretty sure most of us actually don't mind, despite what the representation of the fandom on F!S might have made you think.

115. Okay, I saw that Sweden were in those notes and now I must read it. Irrational as that may seem I do not care, I just have to. Even if it is gay country porn, at least it has MY gay country in it. Why am I patriotic about this so weird.

119. Saint Young Men love. Jesus and Buddha chillin' in Japan is such a strange and heretical concept, and yet somehow it just... WORKS. Man if it get's any more chapters and I get off my ass and research their religions anymore I would roleplay one of those dudes somewhere. Just so that I too could have low key amusing little adventures with Jesus and Buddha. And I would be able to meet up with tons of RP-characters from canons where the villain is a badly researched allegory of the Catholic church and go "whut :|" at their stories.

133. ... Protect your baby bro's innocence OP. Protect it good.

135. Poor Eruka. She needs to run away with Free and have abomination of nature frog/wolf babies with him in a grand cottage somewhere in some dark woods when this is all over. Nay to Medusa-rape :<

153. Yyeah, if you'd prefer the stylings of shoujo manga I don't think Air Gear is going to be your cup of tea. Nnnot at all. Obama is a character. An important character what is wrong with you Oh!Great and why can't I quit you?
