137. Hi! People thinking that they are gay =/= an insult. KTHNX.

Personally I don't think they're fucking IRL, but I still enjoy reading "They are so slashy and TOTALLY IN LOVE in these pics! YAY!" squee, because I like fannish squee and, regardless of reality, Jared and Jensen together is a nice mental image.

If you think I need to get a life because I enjoy squee, fandom is maybe not the place for you. If you think I need to get a life because I think hot guys are hot... I'm not sure quite what to say. I do not think having sexual fantasies and having a life are mutually exclusive.

Also, have you considered not hanging around in J2-friendly places? I have very little trouble avoiding pairings I dislike. On the odd occasion someone on my flist is squeeing about something I'm not interested in, I scroll past. You might want to try that.

This is so going to happen. It was pretty much the reason I got into the comic in the first place (me and about half the other readers, I suspect) and then nothing happened between them for ages and they both went off and had their respective heterosexual shenanigans and then Sara came out and I was like... "okay, awesome. We've got Sara and Daphne and everyone else is being awesome, so my lesbian quota is filled and I'm being entertained. I don't really mind if P&A never happen now." and I was and I fully expected them to not get together (since apparently the people on the forums are so intent on insisting they're both heterosexual and it would never happen and why does everything need to be seen through the slash goggles!? and basically just clamping down on everyone else's hi-jinks.) and then... THIS. The car conversation and the play and just, just EVERYTHING! And they're so HARD GAY all of a sudden. Especially with the flash-forward from earlier on supporting this, I just can't see them not getting together now, really. (Well, at a stretch I probably could, but I'd rather not.)

115- Okay, Obama's been fandomized. But he's not the first; anybody remember "Li'l Bush"? He got pop culture'd into the role of buffoon, but you know what, when a buffoon knocks over the ladder when he's hanging up Christmas lights, it's no big deal. Bush's time in office was much more important than one little "oops!" after another, but instead of hearing intelligent (or, heaven forbid, useful) complaints about what he's done, I've mostly heard "'Is the children learning?' God, what a dumbass!"

#106 - I personally don't think she's all that great of an actress and I hate where the character is going and where she's taken it. I know that is partly in fault of the writing staff but, a lot of folks are dealt a shitty hand but their acting usually makes up for it. She unfortunately, is flat and dull. But that's just my opinion. There's nothing wrong with you for thinking she's good.

#137 - Why do you feel you have to be "insulted"? It's okay to be gay. It's people who disagree with that that are the reasons most actors feel they have to stay in the closet. And quite frankly, THAT is what's insulting. Nice of you to feel entitled enough to feel ashamed for them, though. Get over yourself, please, and let the fangirls have their fun.

I found the book boring; I have a very low tolerance for any kind of "invented language" / slang-type bullshit dominating a book. I don't want to have to be constantly looking shit up in a glossary when I'm reading, basically, especially if I'm reading on my own time.

126. Jack/Ianto are doomed. Everything is adding up to Ianto dying or taking retcon in Series 3, or Rhys corking it. Once Rhys is gone, Ianto doesn't have a prayer even if he makes it out alive. Eve said in Series 1 that Jack/Gwen is "the real thing, but they're going to make you wait for it." She was singing the same tune in New York this weekend. She can't wait either.
