102. HAHAHA I don't, but they do sort of offer themselves up, don't they?

103.I know I've been on fandomsecrets too long when my first reaction to this secret was "Oh hey, Val Kilmer was in Top Gun?"

121. Isn't that whole relationship fanon speculation, anyway?

121

[identity profile] amaiko.livejournal.com 2009-02-10 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. Hayate and Genma never once interact in the manga and Genma isn't even introduced after Hayate dies. And this completely made up fanon pairing is somehow way more popular than Hayate/Yuugao. *facepalm*

106 - o.O Absolutely nothing, silly!

107 - Yes, although it's easier to explain the movie to someone who hasn't seen it by referring to the rage-infected as zombies. Or at least zombie-like?

115 - IAWTS so hard.

184 - lol! This secret made me *g*

Haha, well, I wasn't comparing reading fic to getting an abortion, just that attitudes towards them should be similar. I think most people on f!s (and the internet in general) are a little more liberal and open minded, or at least in the places I peruse. So it follows the same train of thought for me: don't want an abortion? Don't get one. Don't want to read/see incest fic? Don't do it. That's what I was getting along there, heh.

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SKILLS TO WRITE IT, DON'T WRITE IT, BUT DON'T ACT LIKE IT'S A FAVOR. DO BETTER, LEARN FROM CRITICISM, OR DON'T WRITE AND SHUT UP. YOU DON'T GET A COOKIE FOR TREATING POC LIKE DELICATE FLOWERS.

AND YOUR PICTURES ARE RIDICULOUS.

148 - I didn't like the film at all. The book however is well worth reading.

182 - Oldsexual? Genius! Now I know what to call myself :-)

[identity profile] jessicafftheii.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
134 - Neku wasn't as bad as Haseo's transformation over the course of .hack//GU. I liked him way better in //ROOTS.

I wish there was a loner!protagonist that actually stayed true to his personaltiy too. D: I don't need my faith in humanity to be rekindled. If I did, I'd just play any other game.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
105. HEE. OK, this gave me a chuckle. That poster is so ridic. I don't know what they were thinking. It's not quite as lolarious as that EW cover, but it's close.
107. Well, isn't that the idea? That they're the ~new age~ of zombies, because they're fast and...not dead and all? I mean, that's a bit scarier, if they're fast. Especially since I watched it days after arriving in London for the first time. O____o And most importantly, they never say the word "zombie"...eh, just a thought. ;)
109. UM, FOR REAL. ...I have nothing more eloquent to say, just for real. Smart and sexy and lonely...yeah, it's all workin'.
110. Preach, girl.
115. IA. I love him too, but the whole thing's definitely become too...fandomized.
128. I got into it kinda hardcore too, after it ended. :P Damn reruns!
145. He definitely is one tragic fellow. :\ IDK about the afterlife, really, but I'd like to think they all found some kind of happy medium, now that everything's done and they're in a better place...maybe? Honestly, I just have to make myself feel better by thinking about his portrait--you know he's famous and has fangirls coming up all the time, and he's like "go away! I hate children!" Hee.
162. ...Oh, crap, I hope this isn't for me. D:
176. WHAT?! They do?! That's so wrong! I'll concede that she wasn't completely horrible in that movie, but still! Are they forgetting about basically every other second in her life? Gah.
184. Jim and Dwight as gay knights!!! Oh, the mere idea just made my night, thanks. :D And c'mon, that show's great. I don't get the hate. It's not amazingly perfect, but it's really solid and always, always makes me laugh out loud.

[identity profile] paperclipchains.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
107. Couldn't have anythinig to do with the fact taht they're done in the style of zombie flicks, just with medical explanations for what basically amounts to zombies?

110. I HATE TWILIGHT
IT IS SUCH AN UNPOPULAR OPINION
HOW DO I LIVE IN A WORLD SUCH AS THIS

113. She's pretty hot.

120. I'm sorry, did you just say it's ADMIRABLE that he killed everybody to "protect" his little brother? Even supposing that Sasuke is the most important thing ever and that's all justified, he's still responsible for fucking his little brother up forevermore.

151. Um, because often people enjoying the kinks are crossing moral and ethical lines with the people who are doing the hating, and they are reacting accordingly? Not saying it's right, just answering your "why" question.

151

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, I suppose. I've always been really unbiased towards other people's beliefs and wants, so I tend to forget that not everyone is the same way back.

Um, I'm not sure if that's worded correctly enough... like, I don't care if someone wants to follow Christianity, or eat nothing but oranges, or kill themselves, stuff like that. I figure, "none of my business" with all of it. And for some reason, no one else can show the same courtesy in kind. XP

147: I never understood Disney World until a friend dragged me when I was an adult, and I now when I see the ads I am saddened because I am not there. It gets you somehow. I would love to get out of this snow and go work for Mickey.

But he died redeeming himself and saving the life of the son of the woman he loved, and that in itself is a happy thought.

Really? I the book I read, his death is tragically pointless and takes place long after his redemption (but before he has a chance to do anything unambiguously good enough to actually feel redeemed), and his last act in the land of the living is to send the son of the woman he loved to his death.

I want the book you've got, basically.

155. That's actually why I hate him now.
163. I am most definitely going to get into classical philosophy in college. It sounds exciting.
176. Don't worry, I hate her too. I had heard so much about how great she was before I saw Repo; how she was actually a good actress and singer, and how Paris Hilton as we know her is just an act. It was all lies. She's a talentless hack who can't do anything but act like a spoiled brat.
178. I did too. It distracted me throughout the whole movie.
182. The correct term for Oldsexual is Gerontophilia. The more you know.

134. I actually agree. He wasn't a violent, crazy guy. He just liked to be alone. Nothing wrong with that. Also, this made me imagine Shiki giving him a violent Care Bear Stare :D

161. Your pain = Felt. Though unlike you, I disliked it when I saw it. But I don't mind when other people do, obiously. I just don't care for people saying it's the "BEST ANIME EVAR OMGGGG"

152

[identity profile] dynus.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
As a fan of the show... I have to agree that the fifth season was complete crap, with the exceptions of the last episode and the Neil Gaiman episode. Otherwise, no, not worth it at all. Most other B5 fans I know agree, but that's like, three people so...

To me, it's not really a hard scifi show either. I view it as a space fantasy, much like most other scifi things out there except stuff like Alien.

[identity profile] sanae.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
107. I'm of the opinion that "if it shuffles like a zombie and eats people like a zombie, it's a zombie", which annoys one of my friends ("no, those are Ganados! Stop calling them zombies!") So uh... yeah, if I saw those movies I'd probably be in the "ooh zombies" camp too.

137. That man on the left looks so much like the English teacher I had last year. Terrifying.

161. I don't think most people consider it a masterpiece.

107 OP

151. I get what you're trying to say and all, but I just wanna point out that saying "Don't like abortions? Then don't have one!" is, for some people, like saying "Don't like people killing babies? Then don't kill one yourself!"

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That is exactly what I'm saying. If you don't like killing babies, simply don't kill them if they're falling out of your vagina. Just don't get in my face if the ones falling out of mine fall into the trash can rather than loving arms.

161. Agreed. Even though Haruhi is possibly my favorite anime, it's... not "revolutionary" or anything o-o; It's just interesting, well-written, and well-animated. And as much as I love it I wouldn't flip out at anyone for saying it's overrated, because I agree. XD Kind of an odd position to be in, to be sure.

101. I'm glad I was completely obsessed with Vash when I was that age. He was a really good role model. He taught me to value life, that killing never solves anything, and to treat everyone as though they were part of your family. Oh, and of course love and peace. ;)

110. Agh... I hate that. It's just ridiculous.

152. Oh thank the lord, jesus be praised, IT'S NOT JUST ME! I watched the entire thing at the insistence of a friend, and I kinda enjoyed most of it, but any enjoyment I did have was erased by him going on and on and on and on and on about how awesome it was and so much better than Star Trek (knowing I'm a huge ST fan), and it just bugged the hell out of me. He also had a massive go at me for making the comment to him and a friend (who was watching season 1, having seen none before), that G'Kar seems to go through several assisstants. Apparently this spoiled the entirety of season 5 for her, even though one assisstant was in 1 episode of season 5, and that was it.
I like that J-whatshisname tried, but it fell down in too many places for me. Most of season 4 and 5 just felt like running after the Centari, with some small subplots thrown in, and I hated the way the war ended in season 4, big let down anyone? No big season finale there for us ending the war?

156. <3 Nebari, <3 <3 <3. I wish they had been in more episodes :(

152....Babylon 5 takes way more from Mythology than it does Science Fiction. So some people were expecting this massive smack down, when that was never where it was headed. It's more fantasy than science fiction. It's like Lord of the Rings in space.

I really like Star Trek, grew up in a family of Trekkers, but I found it way too sterile and full of Mary Sues and Gary Stus.
