It was pretty cool. It gave a glimpse into more of the Nebari culture and was just lovely. What a sad death. I always thought the Nebari would make awesome main villians....

159. Hahahaha. I can totally see that. Adorable.

175. Excellent point, but I can see why you'd want it a secret. People are weird. I suggested Lani Tupu would make an excellent Master and the only reason any one had against him was "he's not British."

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
107- The point. You missed it.

121- WTF canon did you read? I think you're reading way too much into Hayate and Genma...

115: I still don't see the big deal. :/

151: I think the biggest problem is that incest in real-life often times has serious psychological repercussions and many authors tend to ignore this. However, (especially for that ship above since they grew up unaware that they were siblings) sometimes they can work and as long as the setting and characterization is appropriate, I really have no problems with it.

160: I actually really understand. It's hard to write anything that isn't part of your personal experience, so it'd be hard to write a believable character of a different race. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but I realize that it's difficult. :)

101. Aww Vash! I think he's an awesome reason to become ambidexturous x3

107. Because they exhibit the same behavior as zombies. And despite the fact that zombies = undead and this is people who are plagued with some sorta virus, it still does work as a zombie flick. Acts like a zombie, is a zombie, if you know what I mean.

115. Same here, it's pretty retarded.

125. Ahhhh Watership Down! ...A...downer secret but still, bonus points for Watership Down (even bigger bonus points if I ever see a Plague Dogs secret). However, have you read the book Watership down, or Tales From Watership Down? I don't think those stories are trying to cvonvey that message at all.

131. Repeat

145. I know, I feel awful for him too :/ I actually did ship him and Lily....I cannot stand James and I think, things for Severus might have turned out different if he had Lily too.

176. Yea I still think she's trash.

184. The Office is great! Nice to see that you did decide to try it - there's a reason people are so loud about it!

125. Holy crap a Watership Down secret? Amazing book, though I don't know where you are getting the whole 'life is not worth living' thing from, though I admit it's been a while since I read it.

148. HOLY CRAP A CLOCKWORK ORANGE SECRET? From the viewpoint of someone who loves the film (and book, while I'm at it), I can understand how you'd find it somewhat preachy, but boring? Really? But maybe I'm biased.

105. I screamed in Zellers. XD

151. I think it depends. I don't count stepsiblings as squicky incest, and sometimes cousins work if they're really far back. But other than that, I don't much care for incest as long as there's reason it works, instead of "Sam and Dean are brothers--THEY'RE FUCKING BECAUSE OF THAT, YAAY".

163. CLASSICAL STUDIES IN GENERAL IS THE SHIT, YO. >3

147 - Are you me? I'm pretty sure that there's something about the whole working there that sucks you in and whilst I would do it for another time all over again and jump at the chance to work there again, I'm fairly sure I've ruined a whole chunk of myself in doing so. (And yes, my friends and I always made fun of the over the top traditions people!) Every day something reminds me of Disney and my time there, an advert or a song, and I can't help but get so sad. I'm still in the depressed mode. :( And hell yes - I hate anyone badmouthing Disney!!! And I could rant for an age about being homesick for a place which isn't even my home.

175 - You know I was wondering how long it would be until someone came out with that.

[identity profile] luminousbeat.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hot damn, something' about that already? ...And is that from the IRC?

Hot. Damn. I wonder if saying 'Congrats' would get me killed. Then again, I wonder who you are, OP.

My opinions, they are straight from my head and are thus not sugar coated

(Anonymous) 2009-02-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I take it that response is sarcastic but I will assuming it's genuine because I sleep better thinking whatever the Hell I want. Obvious OP is obvious and has made identity known to one very beloved but I will attempt to be nonobvious for you, non?

Yes, it's from the IRC. It's on an Opera browser which looks better than Chatzilla but not quite as nice as Mibbit. Between all the IRC hosts I've been hoing to and from, I'll figure out how everything works. Eventually. Hopefully. Maybe. Regarding the time of the IRC: it was when I was confused and actually covering for your ass because I thought they were talking about my thread, not yours. Which makes sense, really. Anyhow, all is well that ends well and I'm actually hoping to play with your America soon because America kicks ass and I don't really care what we do as muns as long as the gameplay is clean. The more "wank" generated, the more something is known. (Because I wouldn't really consider it wank unless it's made under a proud username and pimping is good.) Therefore, I think it's great and I have absolutely no problems. Unfortunately it seems nobody else in our game reads F!S and if they do, have not replied. Woe is me.

Congrats is taken and welcomed even though I didn't really do anything. Personally I feel everybody reacted in an unforgivable explosion. Everything could have been contained solely to the IRC and nobody on LJ would have known a thing. But I'm sort of being hypocritical thanks to that little secret you see up there.

...I figure by now it's pretty obvious who I am, so I was considering deleting a bunch of this; but then I realized I didn't care if others in the game knew who I was or not. Honestly, it was fun watching everything and I'm glad to have posted it but not gotten into the fray. And I don't mind admitting it. Although now I'm interested to see what "sounds like me" since I was told that earlier. It's a game and I want to have fun, not freak out over characterization or who hates who as a mun. That is, in my opinion, irrelevant.

155

[identity profile] phantom-roxs.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I honestly agree 100%.

God damn, that man is so fine.

[identity profile] zidane.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
107. WE DON'T SAY THE ZED WORD

To be fair, there are almost no true "zombies" in the zombie genre. They're more or less what the medieval concept of the "revenant" was. Zombies are something else entirely.

But if I seriously complained about that, I would sound obnoxious and pedantic, wouldn't I, anonymous?

[identity profile] fishlove.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You mentioned revenants.

Hi, I like you now.

161.

[identity profile] redeternity90.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too. It was entertaining, but that was about it really.

172, 158, 151

[identity profile] quadruplify.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
172. Me too, but I'm not exactly proud of where I'm from. (It's Connecticut -- there isn't much to be proud of. ^_^; )

158. While I sympathize with you not wanting to reveal too much about yourself online, I also think it's a good idea to keep your mind open. Something a complete stranger says may be more thoughtful, more rational, and better to take to heart than the things your family and IRL friends have told you all your life. Sharing that information is an act of trust -- if you want stronger friendships, eventually these are the kinds of things that need to be said. Those who aren't sympathetic don't get to be your friends anymore, and those who are are those you know you can trust.

151. Incest has too many connotations with child abuse and sexual abuse for this to be more accepted in fandom, I think. I personally don't mind some incest in fic, but if the writer can do it right, can incorporate all the psychological (and possibly physical) implications of such a relationship (and attempts to get over the Westermarck effect) with a decent amount of maturity and realism, then it won't be as squicky as, say, a PWP.

Which character developments are we talking about here? Because I wasn't entirely pleased with "Memoriam," and I know some other people who weren't, either, if that's what you mean.

Re: 140

IA. Memoriam had a lot of potential to be interesting and such, but it kind of fell flat for me.

105. That vampire scared you? Not for nothing, but there are way scarier vamps out there like;

Image

or

or

or even

Image

Any of them is scarier than Edward who looks like he's wearing a too tight thong all the time. My cornflakes are scarier than him. Sheesh.

107. I know that technically they are not zombies. But they are mindless or at least single minded zombie-like beings. You have to admit to that. But, again, you're right. They aren't the living dead. They are the infected. Still, it's scary none the less. Either way, I know I'd be screwed.

175. Are you me, OP?

180. I can see it. But not in a really romantic way though. More like they sing their feelings for each other in hidden meanings within their lyrics sort of way.

118. Except I don't think anyone liked Agnus. Like, you know, ever. And Credo "started" to care about Kyrie? Try ALWAYS. What game were you playing?

134. But, I thought the whole thing about Neku was that his anti-social behavior wasn't healthy. It wasn't that he just liked keeping to himself; he disliked people as a whole. Not a good way to think.

150. There are times when I think Sam's actions are really uncalled for, even if they're for the LULZ. However, just hearing about how totally uncaring her family is makes her sympathetic to me.

161. I think everything is a "each to his or her own." I loved Haruhi, but I think Evangelion was the biggest waste of my time ever. It's all a matter of people having different tastes.

If if wouldn't bother you too terribly (or you actually read this comment), I would appreciate it quite a bit if you could message me through Livejournal or email me at my gmail address of the same name (pugnacioun).
