152) It's the best sci-fi show I've ever seen. And your opinion to the contrary doesn't make even the slightest dent in mine. Sorry. I also like Lost, but it doesn't come close to being as well thought through. Unlike Lost, B-5 actually did know exactly where it was going from the start -- and that's extremely rare with a story this complex. I can count the filler episodes on one hand. Nearly every episode either reflected or forshadowed another episode, which is why you can't start watching from the middle.

my biggest problem in my own particular fandom is that most of the POCs are actually foreign, and i don't know their first language well enough to know how their english speech patterns would work. i can write a fair phonetic accent, but the only language i know well enough to simulate an ESL speech pattern for is french, and that's no help. and if you mess something like that up, you just make the person sound like an idiot manchild, which is pretty horrifically offensive. unique situation, but that's my struggle.

104. Stuff the haters. That's what all these secrets make me think: stuff. the. haters. In this case in specific, if the PPGs helped empower you, get out there and help empower the medium of cartoons. Just because it was made for kids, that doesn't mean adults can't enjoy the show.

107. Haven't seen the films, but "zombie plague" is probably meant more metaphorically than literally. Mindless humans out for human flesh does, indeed, equal zombie for genre purposes.

On the other foot I get irrationally annoyed when anyone calls Link an elf so I can sympathize with the rage, but at the same time I understand why it happens. It's good shorthand for folks not in the fandom.

107 There are different types of zombies, you know. And it's not like these movies were

the first to have infection-type zombies, either. (Hello, Return of the Living

Dead?) Unless you're pissed off that they're fast zombies, which, in my opinion,

just made it scarier.

some presidents/politicians and dislike others, I think fan-worship of politicians is

disgusting. I voted for Obama, but he's the President, not a rock star.

based on the visuals alone, it's not boring. Second of all, the theme of the movie and

that it's an overrated film, especially compared to many of Kubrick's other films.

107. I dunno, a lot of the time 'zombie horror' is more about the fear of being eaten by a mindless creature that is also something you or your friends could easily become.

Kinda like: fear of death/cannibalism + fear of desease + anyone being able to become the enemy.

Page 8 and I'm still explaining myself. (sigh) The movie/book The Road is set in an post-apocalyptic world where people have turned to cannibalism to survive. No one is calling that movie a "zombie horror" film because there are no zombies in it, just like there are no zombies in the 28 days/weeks later movies either, just rage filled plague victims.

If you haven't already done so, read the book. The movie had its good points but it got a couple of things very wrong. 1) some of the darker bits got needlessly maudlin, 2) at the end it's supposed to be El-ahrairah who comes to collect Hazel, not the Black Rabbit of Inlé. Completely different afterlife. The book's a brilliant story in its own right, and has very probably strengthened my own will to live.
