125. Way to miss the point, sweetie. I hope you come to terms with whatever you're dealing with, but you're wrong about Watership Down. One of the most life-affirming books/films I know. The ending should teach you that death isn't scary, not that it's something to strive for.

Oh god, me too. I'm actually trying to come up with ways to mess with potential-future-someday-maybe fans' heads.

So far it includes plenty of HoYay and a light coating of Oops, Now I'm Evil.

[identity profile] ryahhime.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
101. That is beyond adorable.<3

121. I am so afraid this secret is about me, and that the person who would think of me like that didn't really understand that by walking away I was helping her in the best and final way I could.

129. I absolutely loved that speech he made! *has no opinion on the actual secret though*

130. You guys sound like you'd be fun to work with. :D

139. Hee. Cute, but... SHE'S STILL WITH TAMAKI *FOAM* Just kidding, I see where you're coming from, and absolutely adored him. But, see, I shipped him with that guy friend he had...

141. Augh, I know right?! They should at least just start experimenting with each other, I mean, come on, it's high school! *did nothing of the sort in her own high school BUT STILL SO MUCH UST*

142. I find it very sweet and admirable you could admit that your opinion changed. :)

145. I seriously just got all teary-eyed reading this secret. Thank you, OP, for saying exactly how I feel about his character! He honestly deserved some peace and love in the afterlife, especially after going through so much in his lifetime. And yet there Lily and James will be waiting, serving as an eternal reminder of what he could not have. It's sad. I hope he finds someone else in heaven. RIP Snape.<3

182. I myself happen to be pretty "oldsexual." :D Alan Rickman, Christopher Plumber, Sean Connery... Although I have to admit, Biden is not on my list, but I can respect, yo. :D

106. Nothing is wrong with you. I like her too. Sometimes I think fandom just butthurts too much over silly things. Like woman.

She may not be the best but she's not that bad.

137. I don't care if they are gay or not. I love them and their awesome BFF-ness. They're adorable together.

But that section of fandom does scare me with their intensity.

[identity profile] etherealtsuki.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
101. That's awesome.

104. D: I missed the marathon?! Dammit. And yes, they were awesome role models for girls IMO. And it been 10 years, hot damn because I remember first watching them on Cartoon Cartoon.

113. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. And one of the most awesome, tough yet vulnerable.

115. What about RPF/S about celebs?

117. I spy a NYC subway sign~! And yeah, I kinda understand.

134. You're not gonna find that for something that aims for kids, especially nowadays.

143. 4chan. That's your problem.

149. He's from Malice Mizer. And it's not like you're the only one.

155. I missed it because I was engrossed on the Internets, but when I saw it on Best Week Ever, I was like LOL, Bruce, keep on trucking.

161. One man's trash, another man's treasure. While it wasn't a masterpiece with me, doesn't mean it isn't for anyone else. Considering the impact the series had in Japan and abroad, it resonated with a lot of people. That's pretty much it.

168. *sigh* Cool story, bro.

170. Wait, what?

[identity profile] wanderingscribe.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
117) LOL. You're not the only one that does that, let me tell you.

125) Holy shit did you miss the entire point of that story. It's not saying that life isn't worth living, it's saying that everyone has the strength to triumph over adversity, no matter how shitty things get.

144) Also a holy shit, but more of a 'holy shit, there's Fusion Fall art that I haven't seen on the site'. I seriously love the way they revamped everyone (and if you want to talk about 'hot teenage jailbait', I will say that Numbah Five has grown up fiiiiinnnneee, hot damn), but I despair that there's so little art for the characters because it's a game.

168) I don't care about your opinion, but I want to thank you for blinding me with such an ugly secret. It distracts me from the pain of my ovaries deciding to beat the shit out of me. (And now I die. Ow.)

176.

[identity profile] misterthursday.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to ask: Why?

I mean, I've herd loads of reasons for hating her, but I've never found any of the as being an GOOD reasons.

I mean, I'm totally not a fan of her, just... not really too bothered by it.

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
160. I completely understand. That is also my fear.

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's your fear that colored people can't handle your racism, but you're not afraid of hearing about it? Lol.

107 - Would you rather people said "zombie for all practical intents and purposes?" Zombie mythos as we know it is very new, and hardly as inflexible as you seem to think it is. They look like zombies. They act like zombies. The person who they were before is dead. I tend to think of mindlessness as a more defining characteristic of zombies than actually being dead.

120 - I agree. I didn't cry, but I thought Itachi's devotion was admirable considering the craptastic situation he was presented with. On the other hand, I think I'm one of the three people in the world who actually likes how Itachi's plotline was resolved. So I would like that.

[identity profile] mildmay.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I like how his plotline was resolved! Are you shocked? O:

125. Rabbits are telling you to kill yourself. Wow...

145. I HATEED Snape until the very last when he let loose his Patronus charm in front of Dumbledore and the old man turns to him and says something like "Even after all this time you still love her." and he replied "Always". HEART FUCKING MELTED. So I like to think that when he died he got to go to his own personal heaven where he got to spend an eternity with Lily. That's what he deserves.

161. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! I hate how anime fans speak of this show as the one true gosphel and shit. Haruhi is mediocre at best.

168. PASTA~

172. DUDE I'M FROM INDIANA TOO! But how would you portray Indiana? Personally, I'd think of it as Illinois doting little brother. (Because I'm from that part of Indiana that wishes it was just attached to Chicago.)

184. Jim and Dwight as gay knights in medievil times. FUND IT. Dear God I want this so BAD!

Hear hear.
Incest used to squick me but I never proclaimed my hatred for it. Eventually I found some incestuous pairings that I liked and I was happy that I never hated on anyone for incest previously. I completely understand why people would be disgusted by it, but there's no reason for bashing :).

Admittedly the scene with the Art Garfunkel song is sad, but yeah...I think everyone's right, anonymous drifter. The movie (and the book) are quite life-affirming. More optimistic than anything. And I find it kind of sad and ironic that you would get the opposite effect from something that pretty much says "shit happens, deal with it and move on".

Weird.

[identity profile] jlh.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
102 Awesome

103 There's some great stuff on Yuletide.

104 I bet that if you said something a lot of fans would come out of the woodwork. A lot of adults watched Power Puff Girls back in the day.

115 Yeah, there's a fine line between using fannishness to get into something important, and being "lol y so srs?" about like, the future of our country.

128 Come on, it's a great show!

129 So a straight person speaking out about Prop 8 is more important than a gay person doing the same? Seriously? Also, I don't think many people writing RPS about him actually think he's gay. RPS isn't supposed to be predictive fic.

135 OMG, seriously, can everyone stop comparing their emotional reactions to unexpected real life events which are complicated and messy, and scripted fictional events in which your emotions are being carefully channeled and manipulated? NOT THE SAME THING. NO JUDGMENTS.

138 I'm a massive Sokka/Suki and Mai/Zuko shipper, but I'd read that.

148 Kubrick is massively overrated.

155 IAWTS! Especially his reaction, which was adorable and awesome.

157 That show is so poorly constructed it astounds me.

167 How great are they? And how much do fangirls suck that they never want to write judge fic? Gah, stupid idolslash.

180 Loving the old school rock shipping today. Complete with bad breakup and everything!

129 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-09 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
It's nice when people who aren't in the community say stuff. Especially when they point out that they have no dog in the race, so to speak.

It just feels weirdly hypocritical and cheap for him to have said straight out on TV "I'm not gay, and I don't have close relations who are" and for me to go read porn where he's gay.

151 - I agree with this x9000.

162 - This is how I feel about people a lot of the time. LIFE > RP. Don't people have anything better to bitch about?

176 - I don't think she's all that. (I also don't think Repo's all that, but being in one movie that people loved doesn't give someone merit. At least, not in my book.)

121

[identity profile] greeneyedlady.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
This is just like that "You're the Dino to my Hibari" one last week, or "You're the Yamamoto to my Gokudera," or the dreaded "Matt to my Mello" secrets. For the love of marmalade people, if you want to convey your love and affection for someone through fandom metaphor, at least use examples that are actually loving and affectionate to each other.
