104. Hell, even I might have liked him at some point (and I'm about as liberal as you can get before you start living in a commune and wearing flowers in your hair)...if he hadn't attempted and failed at running the country.

109. Seconded like WOAH.

111. It really was a beautiful film, wasn't it?

135. Strategic sheep purposes?

143. Umm...that's what gamefaqs.com is for?

163. THANK YOU. I have never understood RPing characters that haven't even said anything yet!

Hopefully, you'll find more interesting friends... perhaps in Gaiman fandom? Lots of really interesting, intelligent people love Neil!

116. If Bones will sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I'm sure she'd sing I Kissed a Girl too. Probably with Angela. That'd be a great duet. =)

124. Oh goodness, I ship that too. And you know what? Toki tops. Yeah, I said it.

126. Wait, so just because you don't find him attractive, you wouldn't care if they killed him off? Because that's stupid and shallow. Or is there something in the wording that I missed?

151. Aaahhh! This! I agree so hard! And you're pretty much the first I've heard say it.

159. It says that you have great taste in books. Or at least, that's what it says to me.

Actually, the similarity makes more sense than you think it does. Katie Perry is often noted as a look-a-like of Zooey Deschanel (actress and singer in her own right), who is Emily's younger sister, and Emily and Zooey look VERY similar from certain angles.

103. I kind of hate myself for knwoing this, but that's WoW porn, though the Tauren does make it count as furry, I'd imagine.

118. So do I. I hate that cliched tough manly seme/wheepy feminine uke crap. I hate that it's so prevalent. I hate that so many people squee over it and that people who don't like it are automatically homophobes. So yeah.

139. They'll take anything half-decently drawn, so there's quite a bit of money in it. But at the same time, do you really want to do something you hate? Even if it means getting to do something you love eventually?

162. Target shooting is some of the most fun I've had in my life. I honestly don't get why people don't like firearms. What's so terrifying or repugnant about them? It's not like they'll jump off the table (or out of the safe or whatever) and shoot you on their own. That is to say, I don't understand it. That doesn't mean I don't respect your opinion, though. If you don't like them, you don't like them.

See, this is why I loved Coraline to bits(other than the fact that it was an awesome book-to-film adaptation. ilu Henry Selick). It's NOT like most "cartoon movies" these days. People need to stop thinking that all animated movies are going to be mindless entertainment. Just because it wasn't live action doesn't mean it can't carry a message or have an awesome, interesting plot! Ugh.

Also, wtf how can they like Twilight but hate Coraline. Epic fail.

101. I've never been into the shipping part of fandom; it often seems less about the characters and more about fandom identity and Being Right. Anyways, the only reason I'm commenting is that I wanted to say that you've made a nicely designed secret.

110. ...yeah, you need to stop giving people your respect based on their shipping opinions, strangero. It says a lot more about you than it does them.

111. I love the book Coraline, and I haven't seen the movie yet. Don't tell me they give her a boy sidekick. Is that one of the ghosts? What about the cat? The fabulously aloof cat!?

155. But! But! But! He's the Cylon that's closest to sanity (well, excluding You Know Who). Hell, he's the CHARACTER that's closest to sanity. That's gotta be worth something, right?

163. People are already RPing Lightning? WTF?

166. Yeah, I don't know how I started caring, but I did. They're both so socially awkward, Peggy in a less obvious way, but they fit together.

111.

[identity profile] geministar01.livejournal.com 2009-02-16 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
She does get a buddy, but he really adds to the story more than anything else. He's not one of the ghosts - his name is Wybie, and he's the grandson of the house's landlady. He's mostly there as a window character, to give Coraline somebody to talk to while the cat, you know, doesn't talk, and helps fill in a bit of the back story.

111.) D8

113.) Your fun little checklist? WELCOME TO THE TWILIGHT FANDOM. Egads, what ELSE can you expect? The majority of the Twilight fans I've met are rabids who think that anyone who speaks against Her Majesty on High Mistress Meyer even the tiniest bit should be flogged to death.

116.) Aaahahaha. xD

126.) IMO he's pretty cute, and I guess I still like the character, but... eh. Ben and Sayid are FAR more good looking to me. xD I'll stick with them.

137.) 8D Aww!

142.) I love Lord of the Rings, but they make me feel happy AND depressed at the same time.

144.) I dunno WHY people make out Batman fans to be assholes and elitists. I still consider myself a comic newbie (been reading them since just last summer), and I've asked my share of stupid questions, and... I'm still here. Batman fans only seem to get jerky when people start acting like total morons (a la the obnoxious Joker fangirls who think he's "so so cute" and "just needs a hug"; stuff like that). BUT, glad it's better for you. 8D

149.) I feel like I missed out SO much on that. I only got into the whole fandom thing when I was about 14, and by then it was still going, but winding down. And now everything is just... gone. D8 I miss bagginses.net the most- ROAST, YOU MISERABLE MARSHMALLOW!

113.) I enjoy the Twilight books (except for the last one, lol) and I cannot stand Stephenie Meyer. As far as I'm concerned, she wrote an enjoyable story which will never be considered "great" writing in the literary world, but she's gotten way out of control with her God complex. But that's just my opinion.

So don't worry. Not all Twilight fans are OMG!crazy and rabid. :)

149.) Me too... I only really got into LOTR when I was 13/14 and by the time I was done with high school, it seemed like the fandom was done. Maybe when/if "The Hobbit" comes out there will be a revival?

Me too. Ted is my favorite character with Emmett my second, and I'm a little sad that they ended up with other people at the end of the show.

They got together at the end of season 2 then they were together for season 3 for a while before Ted became a drug addict.

It was nice to see them get back to being friends for season 4 and 5, but they really should have gotten back together in the end :(

155) But unlike most of the cast, he's sane and not overcome with drama, despite the trying circumstances he's been put in! (Mostly sane, at least, when he's not a thousands year-old rock star, lol. Rock on, future!Dylan. Rock on.)

116. Katy Perry looks more like Zooey.

166. I hear you, bb. I love P/P. God, I can't wait until this show comes back on.

Hee I was just commenting on 166! Is P/P amazing or what?

(this place sure could use more Mad Men secrets... or something not Dr Who/Twi/TDK/Hetalia related?)

Yay, Metalocalypse secrets! ♥

124. I thought my friends would make fun of me for shipping them, but it turned out a few of them secretly did too. It's kind of funny.

128. Anything romantic with Seth, slash or not, is weird to me. I think I've seen the fics you're talking about and they're disturbing as hell. People even wrote spinoffs, wut.

147. You're not the only one, OP. My friend's mom and sister were both swooning over Obama the night of the inaugruation. I'm impartial, but you're right -- it's odd seeing people being attacted to the president now.

EDIT: sup page three.
