or perhaps they are sad about the fact that another great actor was lost but his death passed with nothing more than a sigh while Heath's has caused a huge storm through fandom. that is kind of sad.

it has nothing to do with maturity, but it's a comment on how fickle fandom can really be.

but far be if from me to shit on a Heath Ledger fan girl, still in mourning and not willing to acknowledge that great talents are lost all the time with no more than a passing mention. it would take away from the AWESOMENESS that is the TRAGEDY of Heath Ledger.

Actually, I wasn't sad at all when Heath died, except for his daughter. I don't really care what anyone says Heath made JUST as much decision in his death as Jon did. I think Jon's death was much sadder and I will miss him more even if he wasn't still a huge star when he died.

108: MIXED FEELINGS PLZ. I love femslash. Hell, I write femslash, and it would be incredibly nice if there wa as big of an audience for that as there was for boyslash.
But, a challenge for writing about the girls more rubs me the wrong way. It looks like, "hay, let's write about girls because everyone's so sexist", and I want to see people write about the girls because they're interesting characters in their own right, not just because it's not PC to ignore them. Why do we need a "don't be sexist" challenge to remind us that girls are people?

See, I don't get that.

I get it as an audience builder because the audience for femslash and female characters in certain fandoms isn't as organized, it isn't just to "don't be sexist" so much as to provide fic that isn't as often or abundant for people who would like to read it. Obviously this isn't going to work if people weren't already interested in it.

But then whatever provides me with interesting fic is fine with me, I don't care about the motivations.

123. I'm just sick of the fact that these ship wars ARE STILL GOING ON. It made sense when I joined the fandom in 2001, 4 years after the game came out, but it's 2009, and if the Compilation hadn't been made, I'd still be in the fandom. *sighs*

131: Secrets like this make me glad I left that fandom. I still love Hetalia the comic and don't really mind the anti-Hetalia people... but I'm glad stopped thinking "Hetalia is the bestest fandom with the nicest people ever!" It's not. There are a lot of great people in it, but... it's not.
