Me too... at first I felt all happy and then as it kept going I kept getting sadder. :( I think that was the point though.

101, 102, 107, 116, 136, 144

[identity profile] jikeidannin.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
101 - The opening credits were one of the best parts of the movie, if you ask me. Although I didn't cry, lol.

102 - WHAT IS IT, WATCHMEN DAY OR SOME SHIT? Jeez. But honestly, I really adored Ozy in the movie. I haven't read the books yet; haven't had time. (Although a friend of mine suggested Jon/Ozy to me and I think it might be interesting...)

107 - Yep, it's Watchmen day. Again, I haven't read the books, but that was an incredibly powerful scene in the movie. Sometimes maybe drawn panels have nothing on the big screen? :D;;

116 - I can't imagine that I won't like him in the comics. I don't understand the mentality that people seem to be presenting on Watchmen. IT'S SO DIVIDED. Although I'm a Batman fan, so I see it in that fandom, too. It probably happens over things like Iron Man, but I don't read Marvel, so I'll never know. 8D

136 - Seriously, why is this a secret? I mean, more power to you! I might audition myself. BUT WHY IS IT A WORTHY OF A SECRET. DO YOU LIKE SUCK AT SINGING OR SOMETHING?

144 - There are fandoms that I feel the EXACT SAME WAY ABOUT. Seeing or hearing about something every ten minutes doesn't make me want to see/read/watch it - it makes me want to punch a baby.

Re: 107

[identity profile] amredthelector.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I think it might have to do with the fact that comics are a soundless medium. Even if the letterer bolds/italicizes the words and the artist draws tears and a sad face, it can't hold up to the voice with a slight crack at certain words. Also, even if it looks beautiful on a page, an actual human will be a lot easier for the audience to relate to.

And yes, totally Watchmen day. At least they're good secrets, and none of the mind-breaking ones about astral plane lovers or anything.

102. See above comment.
107. Both book and film has it's merits, but that whole part of the story was better in the film. In the book it was...there's too much to say to post it here, but yea. I agree.
116. I liked both for different reasons, but I guess that goes for everyone except Laurie who I just outright didn't like in the comic.

Well, you're gonna need patience, plenty to drink, comfy shoes, maybe an mp3-player or a book to pass the time... and did I mention patience? ;-)
It's a fun thing to do, really, and I can totally recommend the experience as a once-in-a-lifetime sort of thing. But yeah, the waiting can kill you if you're an impatient sort of person.
I mean, I auditioned for an Idol version in a different country, but I bet it's the same everywhere. Lots of nice people, lots of music everywhere, looooong waits and not anywhere near as many freaks as you would expect ;-)
I thought it was fun and I don't regret making that experience at all.

Have fun! =)

102. Hey, don't worry about it. I came out of the cinema with a new Dan/Adrian ship, which I really wasn't expecting.

139. So, he's the Doctor, then?

158. Unfortunately, it'll happen no matter what. The Joker got more than his share, after all, and I'm just waiting for the Rorschach!Sues to emerge. Though the creators of the Sues will have to work out how to spell his name first, so hopefully we're safe for a while.

156. I would say they're FAR from the most perfect relationship to have ever been in existence...hell, even in recent Hollyoaks memory (Steph and Maaaaaax....) I love McDean and all, but their relationship had and has major flaws and that's what makes it intriguing.

165. I hope they're not censoring school versions of it at all, that would be terribly inappropriate to the actual point of the play.

156

(Anonymous) 2009-03-15 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly, that's what makes it so - in my opinion - perfect. They've been through so much, and yet their love for each other is so strong. What they've had might not be "the perfect relationship" as such (how do you define a perfect relationship anyway?), but the fact that they love each other so much despite everything that's happened - a love that grew stronger the more time passed - and the incredible chemistry that they've had throughout their story is what makes it perfect for me.

And I'm not ashamed to admit that I think a bit too much about what their lives are like now in Dublin... :)

101. ♥

102. Two Watchmen secrets in a row first thing... wow. =P

116. That was me with Ben Barnes, it's okay. >< And any criticism the Watchmen movie gets, it's always centered around Goode's "bad" performance of Veidt. Now suddenly I'm seeing all this love for him. <3
(His accent, though... wtf was it?)

120. Ahhh, a case of the Tyra Banks Syndrome. SMeyers has it, I can see. =P

128. Joel McHale... ilu so much. <33
This guy showed me how self-absorbed Tyra Banks REALLY is (relates to above secret)

133. PEOPLE DIDN'T? O_O
Well, I liked it too... and I wanna see the sequel ('cause c'mon, you know there's gonna be one). AND I WANT FIC TOO.

139. No, that's Alexander Gould. That muffin just gets CUTER as he gets OLDER. It's impossible, but I swear it's true. >3

147. Who is that? o.O

158. Ahh, that's gonna suck for you guys. ><

163. O_O 3 Willows?
Oh dear God, I feel so wrong, but now I wanna read it. ><
This is the first I've ever heard of it.

n!s 5. The thing is, each author took the mythology of vampires and made it their own, keeping the same rules present (and I'm not talking about the new authors that are cashing in from Meyer's success... or Anne Rice). We're not all experts about vampire lore, just like how we're not experts of Arthurian legend. But at least Meyer could've made the effort to do some research, instead of dreaming of some sparkling creature and calling it a vampire.
(I do like the books and movie, though. They're like crack >3)

116

[identity profile] lucia-tanaka.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
116. In the Film Companion, Goode notes that the accent coming in and out was a conscious decision. When in a business setting, Adrian's accent is more American. When he's among groups he's more comfortable with, the accent slips and he speaks normally.
