(I'm sure there are others we don't hear about as often, but that's also a good thing. I'd rather someone be good than just place importance on creating witnesses of their "goodness." But if someone's goodness just happens to be seen, that doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing either.)

Eh... the internet has made me wary towards labeling people as 'wholesome' or 'problematic'. Everyone has sides to them that not everyone else gets to see. Good people are sometimes evil, wittingly or not; evil people are sometimes good, wittingly or not. People are just people. Celebrities shouldn't be held to different standards.

Frankly I don't care and I don't care to learn. Unless they are seriously bad (child molester or a nazi etc) I don't want to know.
Celebrities are people under some weird scrutiny. So either I like their work or don't, anything else is whatever

I only liked pineapple the one time I tasted it fresh while I was in Hawaii.

Every other time, my hatred for pineapple knows no bounds.

Pineapple on pizza is GOOD. It cuts through the taste of the sauce and is a good barrier to the acidity of tomatoes that my stomach can't handle due to not having a gallbladder.

I enjoy dried pineapple. Raw pineapple is okay but I have to limit myself to a few pieces because it makes my mouth raw after a while.

Same. Pineapple is one of my favorite things, and I will eat it raw until it starts to shred my mouth. I don't like it cooked though.

I don't like the fruit itself, and I've had it very fresh in a country where it actually grows. But I do like the juice mixed with other juices sometimes. Like with orange juice, mango juice, etc.

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that secrets with lots of text are sometimes difficult to accommodate and I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space. Also, this is not the appropriate place to hold political debates or arguments about what is and is not fandom - those can go in the General Comments section as their own thread, no need to make it into a secret.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

Next year it falls on Easter. Heh. No doubt there's gonna be some entertaining marketing then. Some weed n' egg themed wedding ceramonies assuredly too (weedings, if you will).

Social conditioning

There's something very odd to me about how many people think it's purely social conditioning that makes someone want to have kids.

I'm not saying social conditioning doesn't enter into childbearing at all. I think it plays a part in the amount of kids people tend to want to have; in the motivations they're willing to publicly articulate; and how child-rearing duties are conceptualized and divided.

But it seems really wacky to me to posit that the only reason someone might want to reproduce is that society has told them to. We're a sexually reproductive species; we have drives oriented toward making babies! We can ignore and circumvent these drives, but they're there, same as they're there for every other animal on the planet.

Christians don't like the idea that we're animals. But I feel sometimes as though non-Christians in our society are little different. Perhaps it's the fact that our culture is heavily influenced by Christianity, and its values trickle down and permeate our thinking, even when we think we've stepped outside of it. Perhaps that's the real social conditioning: the notion that we're somehow Not Animals, and so are not subject to the baser instincts associated with them. But we are animals, and even though we're possessed of a high degree of self-awareness, there are many aspects of ourselves that are at heart animalistic. One of them is the desire for offspring.
