So you're blaming everyone else for not knowing that you have triggers that you don't tell them about and being passive-aggressively angry at them for "making you take the shame?"

I'm sorry you have triggers but what the hell is the logic in that?

"This triggers me. I'd rather not talk about why, but it does. Please don't link it to me any more."

Problem solved.

MTE

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It can be. But even though I can admit that there are some denominations that actually are hurtful and do seem hate-based, I've yet to see a nonreligious person from here acknowledge that there are some denominations that aren't and that maybe we all shouldn't be painted with the same brush.

Haven't seen the movie- what "perverted" acts did they do to add fuel to the fire?

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Fat and hairy?

jk, cute secret

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, really? Even if those beliefs are anti-gay, anti-woman, and all those other things? Not that every Christian is, but "no matter what" is ... no. No.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You are as narrow-minded as any religious bigot. Kudos.

Go for it!

[identity profile] meivita.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...What?

Was this made made by a normal mareep with shiny envy?

[identity profile] interrobangings.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
if you did i would capture you and then go fight crime

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
it's because Good Omens has more slash material than all other books by Pratchett & Gaiman together.

[identity profile] koushi.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll give up my deadpan snark to be a nice person like you.

I love Percy, but I highly doubt they'll include his big DH moment. They've had him in the background with the Ministry the past few films, but they haven't pointed it out at all. I doubt the people who didn't read the books even know who Percy is.

But personally, I never liked his DH moment. I feel like both Percy and his family had things to apologize for, so him just suddenly showing up with an apology and his family barely accepting it... it bugged me.

I love Good Omens, and thought it was hilarious. But I've tried reading the Discworld series and I was very underwhelmed. Everyone acted like it was hilarious, and it just didn't do a thing for me.

Okay, I liked the Luggage.

Judge away then/ALSO SPOILERS

I've never cared either way for Kat, but that just made me dislike her. Annie found out her existence was the reason her mother died, I highly doubt Kat would have taken it any better. It smacks of fair-weather friend to me, tbh. Not to mention utterly selfish on Kat's part.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck, OP!

[identity profile] tenonthedot.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
...I can't even tell what this is. Damn, now I'm curious.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
well then why not smear all christians/moslems/jews/whatever with the same "those people" brush? because that's exactly what you're doing here.

pot, meet kettle

There was a Maskerade secret a while back, and another one the same day, although I don't remember what it was for. The GO fandom's just really excited about the upcoming miniseries, methinks. It'll die down again in a little while.

Also, if you want to talk PTerry with someone, I'm always up for a chat. :D

My first thought was "Oh, I wonder what teams!"

Sorry, anon. For both the lack of your teams' popularity and my inability to be empathetic.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
If you've just tried reading the first few Discworld books, yeah, they kinda stink compared to the middle to later ones.

[identity profile] koushi.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

(Anonymous) 2011-03-26 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You're naive to think that kinda attitude works in real life.

[identity profile] interrobangings.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm an atheist but i don't mind people being part of a religion so long as they don't use it as a weapon against other people

if you want to pray to god or believe in something that gives them hope, then that's just fine

but the second they use it to oppress other people?

no, fuck off

edit: i have a few religious friends and it makes me uncomfortable when they've personally done nothing wrong and people attack them solely for being religious

double edit: this thread is pretty gross already

It's not like Buffy was 12, sheesh. Mid to late "teens" (because even though 18/19 are still technically "teen" years, they're also widely considered young adult years, too) is not unreasonable for a relationship of that magnitude. You know, minus the soul-losing, fish-killing psychomania parts.
