Well with that attitude, yeah, not worth it. But if you really want to make some friends then you're going to have to put some effort into changing the way you think and act. Going into any new relationship, whether it's online or off, with cynicism, coldness, and the idea that no relationship will ever last....that's not gonna work.

Spacetrawler. Read Spacetrawler.

It's a science-fiction webcomic about a group of humans who get abducted to help fight an evil alien space bureaucracy. There's a lot of relationships between humans and aliens in it, and it's never done in a leering way, and they range from promiscuous sex (Dmitri, who is the best character) to a touching, committed relationship between a woman (Martina, who is the best character) and a giant space slug. And also it's really good. Right up your alley.

Also, you should check out James Tiptree's short story "And I Awoke And Found Me Here On The Cold Hill's Side". Which isn't romance, so much, and it's not really positive, but it's still about human x alien, and it's a great short story writer, and Tiptree was a great writer, so check her out.

I was surprised to burst into tears when I saw that. I guess I don't follow him that closely, but I always look up his opinion and grew up reading his books and watching him on tv (my parents are movie buffs). Now I'm finding out he was already doing great things when my parents were kids.

Fainting

Have you ever fainted? Like full-on all of a sudden your body just forgets how consciousness works fainting?

I had it happen to me this morning. I was just there talking to my mom, and suddenly my vision started to go dim, and I couldn't keep my balance and started just staggering trying not to fall over. I fell into mom, who caught me and helped me over to the couch, and I sat there for a few minutes before the sweating and the ringing in my ears went away. Ten minutes later I was totally fine, like it had never happened. Still have no idea what caused it. I don't think it was hunger or tiredness, I'm not sick, and I'm definitely not pregnant...

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

It depends on the combat system, but I've been enjoying Let's Plays more and more than regular games now too. Not to mention Let's Plays free up my hands, so I can work on my knitting/crochet as I watch.

As a little kid, I used to watch him and Siskel argue it out on TV on Sunday mornings. Looking back, I think that it's odd that such a little kid would be interested about movie reviews but there was something about the two of them that was just entertaining.

Well Fucking Pollen Season started early this year, and because I am lazy and haven't changed my GP to one that is in the same city as me I haven't gotten any allergy medicine so I can't fucking breathe and my throat hurts, and both my wrists are itchy (probably another allergic reaction to something) and I can't be arsed to get out of bed to get my hydrocortisone cream and well life sucks and I feel sorry for myself. and I realize now that I am an idiot, I can just call my doctor and make him write me a prescription, electronic prescriptions are put into use in my current city too now...

On top of that I got career day at school tomorrow, so I can't stay in bed...

It happened to me recently, after giving a blood sample for a study. What you experienced sounds like what happened to me, though I was stupid enough to try walking to a bathroom and ending up falling over.
What happened to me was Vasovagal Syncope or Vasovagal Response, and it's like when the wires in your brain get crossed and you blood pressure drops like crazy. If you're sitting down, you might not lose consciousness. I looked into it a lot because it freaked me out so much that my body could just do that for no reason. Ugh.

All five Star Trek series have quite a few human x alien (and alien x different species of alien) pairings.

Buffy has Buffy x Angel and Buffy x Spike (human x vampire) and Xander x Anya (human x demon).

Doctor Who has the Doctor x River Song as actual romance, and heavy subtext with the Doctor x Jack and the Doctor x Rose Tyler. Plus a whole bunch of examples between one-off human and alien characters.

Lord of the Rings has Aragorn x Arwen (human x elf)

I'm too lazy atm to think of more.

Earlier this year I was eating so little that I would go to the gym and black out for a bit afterwards.
One day I ran a few miles and when I was in the shower I blacked out for half a minute or so. I was standing and swaying on my feet and my eyes were open but I couldn't see anything.

Yeah but then you come back to a game half a year later and have no idea what you were even doing. This can be bad for a lot of games, RPGs and such (especially non-linear RPGs or ones with a lot of different sidequests)
