Problems that don't sound like problems

Do you have any problems that you can't really complain about because people will have no sympathy?

When I split my crystal light addin into two water bottles one always has too much and the other two little. So I end up with a too sweet one and a not flavored enough one. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

Make it in one larger container, then split it between two smaller bottles?

I have a friend who likes to buy me (and other friends) stuff because she feels good about finally having a job and it makes her feel useful. But I feel kind of guilty about accepting. And now I am sort of tempted to ask for something.

Ask. Later you can take her out for a thank you lunch/coffee/dinner/whatever.

now i feel bad about bragging about that the other day.

it's completely random anyway, so don't worry, you'll eventually find one!

I have trouble exercising my arms. I have a back problem and when I work my arms out too much I tend to end up with "OH MY GOD THE PAIN. THE AGONY. SOMEBODY PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY SO I DON'T HAVE TO FEEL THIS ANYMORE" type pain. So I have flabby arms.

Thing is, I'm skinny. So when I say 'I wish I could work out my arms more' I get side-eyed and told that I don't need to work out because I'm not fat.

Re: Problems that don't sound like problems

(Anonymous) 2014-06-05 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
That sucks. There are so many other reasons to want to work out other than weight loss.

Ugh, I hate how people think the only reason to work out is to lose weight. Or the only reason to eat certain things is to lose weight. This is why I say that people should be focused on healthy habits rather than size.

What kind of workouts are you doing? Maybe you just need to do milder workouts for shorter periods of time more frequently instead of a more intense workout. Something like these?:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGL9h9A5BsA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGv6BM9YTRs

I swear those circling your arms things are simultaneously the most brutal arm workouts I've done and the easiest. I don't have back problems so I can't speak to that, but I've not felt much of the work in my back, it's mostly in the bicep/tricep.

Can you go swimming?

I know I have been all over the past few posts like I'm the lobbyist for swimming, but I really really like swimming as an exercise. It makes me strong, and while I get a little achy sometimes, I never get the kind of pain that I get when I do other exercises.

Sometimes I really want to nap in the middle of the day, but too much light escapes around the edges of my blind to let me.

It took me a while to learn to nap with light. It was frustrating for a while though.

I need to gain 30 pounds, and am tired of sweets and baked goods and really really wish I could eat broccoli, or fresh pears, or whole grain bread, or vegetable soup, or anything that wasn't carefully chosen because of its high calorie count.

Of course every time I mention this to people they're like "Boy, I wish I had your problem! Hahah, you want 30 of my pounds? Can I be introduced to this doctor who told you to eat as much chocolate as you can?"

Not so much sympathy, but nobody understands why it drives me nuts when movies and shows will have loud music in them while characters are talking. I have hearing problems, so this means if I turn the volume up, I risk going deaf because the music's loud, but I'll be damned if I know what anyone's saying.

But even beyond a lot of people not getting that, I feel by complaining I'm pulling some sort of card.

I am irrationally irritated when people make non-embedded links/non-hyper links part of a line instead of its own paragraph.

If it is its own paragraph, I can triple-click it and I highlight the whole link and nothing but that link. Anything else and I have to waste a whole three extra seconds and multiple hand movements to highlight it. :P

I'm just not happy with my live in general - there are so many facets of it I want to change. But because it's so vague, and so large - it's really hard to convey to people.

I took a pretty long nap today because I was tired. Then I ate something and it made me feel sick so I took another nap. Now I'm hungry again but I'm not sure if I should eat because I don't want to get indigestion again and have to sleep it off again. I've slept too much.

As a writer....I HAVE TOO MANY FECKIN' IDEAS.

Like I have come up with seven fantasy worlds/ story universes. Seven.

But I have a short attention span about actually writing my main one I've been on for about eight years now. My brain is often wanting to chase fleeting idea- squirrels.

It really does actually suck because it makes it hard to focus.

I really want to see all the fun superhero movies that come out this time of year that it seems like everyone online is talking about, but I can't because for whatever reason I keep getting sick at the movies. I gave it a shot and saw Winter Soldier with my dad on Easter and missed about ten minutes in the middle because I had to run to the restroom and throw up. Watched the rest of it with my eyes closed half the time. *sigh* Waiting for the DVD releases again, I guess...

I found my next relationship. As I was leaving a visit home. Long story short: he's a long-time friend, we finally had sex and it was fantastic for everyone, then he started talking about "visit" me in my town. I don't think he's ever left the city, let alone the country. And I refuse to do long-distance again; doing it with the end in sight was bad enough and right now we both have too much keeping us in our respective cities.

Fucking oxytocin.

The house I care-take for my family and thus live in alone rent-free is a pain in the ass to keep clean. Yeah, everyone else is all "har, cry me a river, you have an awesome place to stay, what other student can say that?" and I'm all "but - but - the garden! the dust! the windows! Keeping everything up to code! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
