You're hardly alone!

Martha Jones > Rose Tyler

(I mean, Rose was okay.)

05. I recognize them all, and I do love the majority of them as well (especially Slam Dunk and Rokudenashi Blues), but... Everyone has different tastes. I, too, feel that most of the manga made today lacks something -- but that doesn't mean I feel that my opinion is better than someone else's, nor does it mean that I think every contemporary manga series isn't worth shit. And then there's also the fact that manga changes; the ones you listed lack something in turn when compared the the even older stuff like Cyborg 009 and Devilman, and in another ten years time the series will lack something when compared to what we have today. Stuff just changes, y'know. It's sad in some ways, but that's life.

16. Yeah, well, just be aware that you're missing out by refusing to give the actual game a chance. Believe me, the 20 minutes or so leading up to that ending is just as sad as the FMV itself -- it builds the feeling and really intensifies it; I honestly don't think anyone can truly appreciate the ending without playing through that first. And you'd also miss all the adorable emails/text messages/whatever that Cloud sends Zack, and... a million other things. Seriously, ignore the fact that it fucks with old canon and changes things, 'cause deep down it's actually a pretty damn good game.

62. Don't let something like that stop you. Personally, I'm someone who's willing to give anything a chance; I don't have an OTPs, and I'm fine with any kind of pairing. Also, seeing something different for once is nothing but a plus. So hey, go for it! Though, I gotta say, if the images are indeed related like you said (and Hallelujah/Allelujah and Billy/Graham are your pairings) -- then, uhm, that's not rare at all ^_^;

16

[identity profile] unavalible.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You said everything I was thinking too! It's an awesome game and a hell of a lot of fun to play, even if it messes around with stuff!

19. You're not alone. My first (or second, don't remember) fictional crush I had was on a character who used mind control on the main character's sister and then forced the him to kill her. Although, I get the feeling Diamond might not be quite that bad, but I never got quite that far into Sailor Moon. :/

47. FUCK YEAH KING OF THE HILL (ALso, you could certainly do worse with a role model.)

77. ...Is that The Thief and the Cobbler???

wank-related: I LOL'D

Did I say 77?

Whoo, a lot of secrets in fandoms I know today :D

10. All those 'thinspiration' secrets make me want to eat chocolate.

12: *Intrigued* What show is it?

18: You were saying something?Mmmm, suit.... Seriously, go on! Crack pairing are good, and I read a good dub-con fic with them somewhere. There's probably even a comm.

23. \o/ WELL SAID!

32. :( I'm sorry; that's just fucking nasty. Er, if your'e into Doctor Who Calapine is lovely?

41. Thank you for caring.

49, meet 50. You could be a match made in Heaven- if you didn't kill each other.

64. The Lifeonmartha and Smithandjones comms? Nostalgia_lj? Lizbee? Calapine? Persiflage_1? Puipui? Malaleen? Hell, even LNF me *points at icon*? You aren't alone.

78. AGAIN, HELL YES.

46. Girl gamer! *waves hands frantically* Over here! Though I'll admit, my first console was the SNES, not the NES.

I had a RL moment like that today. There were a couple of guys in class talking about Smash Bros. I said something about being excited to play it, and they both gave me this... sort of patronizing, oh-that's-nice-dear look. I felt really self-conscious and moved to the other side of the room.

Um. But I haven't run into it so much online, though I stay well away from big gaming communities. I imagine those are terrible, though.

67. When was that?

76. We'll always have our DVDs and repeats. David Attenborough is just too old now :( :(

65. I don't even recognise some of those FFVII characters! I like pretending no crappy spin offs were ever made...

74. You're not insane, just bored of your current lifestyle.

46. I know! Because women can't be proper gamers or something.

5. Haaaa, congratulations! You just came off like such an ass that there's no way anyone will ever read Slam Dunk or Dragon Ball Z, because they don't want to associate with people like you!

27. I've never seen this or heard of the character, but...that's some beautiful Treasure Planet fanart!

46. I say, tell them you're a girl. I used to be a mod on a video gaming forum, and I don't recall people not taking me seriously because I was a girl. (Then again, the forum was dedicated to a Japanes RP game--I don't know if it'd change if it was based around, say, Halo or something.)

55. ...But, if he DID have a british accent, can you IMAGINE how many fans would use that as an excuse to totally trash the dub? XD;;

58. LOL, that'd be a hilarious crossover. XD

60. They're not really SERIOUS, I don't think. The game itself seems to have a "wink wink, nudge nudge" feel to it to me. Solid Snake being in SSBM and geeking out with Otakon over "Falcon PAAAAAAUNCH" only confirmed this in my mind. I think the creator just knows how to have fun with goofy spy plots, but still create serious characters out of it.

71. ...I wanna see the movie and read the books, too. You're not alone.

72. Okay, this is sad...I read this secret and I thought "Ooh, she'd like Autor from Princess Tutu!"

I'm obsessed. Halp.

60. I don't think you're supposed to(are you?). I never did.

[identity profile] forchancookie.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
45. Completely agree. I find it's the younger writers who are doing it wrong. You still have some older women who put out uber romance crap, but I know more decent older writers.

Also, I love your little microbe!

10. last time I checked, wanting to not be overweight and using some character you really like as motivation to do so wasn't a bad thing. Sure, you get some people who take it to extremes and get all anorexic about it, but... for the love of god, don't try to make us feel bad for trying to stay healthy :\ Admittedly, my "thinspiration" was male, but the point still stands. If it works for people, who are you to judge them for it?

58. The crazy thing is that your idea could actually work XD

Anorexia is a dangerous form of self-harm, and it's unnerving to see it being advocated by so many people.

It's based on the Disney's Fairies books. It basically explains how she became a fairy, what do you have to do in order to a good fairy, and how she got know Peter and all of that stuff.

Which is neat because I was always curious about that.

45. It depends a lot upon the fandom. I bet most Harry Potter slash is like that, but I promise you that there's not a single piece of Life on Mars slash like that, probably because all the male characters in the show are very manly men (except for Chris).
There's no way of writing the Gene Genie girly! (Hell, I've even seen him act manly in a genderbending fic).

[identity profile] masakochan.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
^^;; Unfortunately with HP slash fic- you sometimes have to dig through all the crap before getting to the good stuff. Other times it just depends on where you're searching.

30. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. I don't mind Klavier/Apollo (some of it's actually pretty hot, but at the same time, I didn't see ANY chemistry between them in-game, and I can't help but feel it's a forced "OMG RIVALS!!!11!!!" pairing to try and mirror Phoenix/Edgeworth), but I still get a little jealous when I see my Polly with anyone but Phoenix.

80. o////o *SO EMBARRASSED but in a good way?* XDDD
