45. While I think you're overgeneralizing, i agree that a lot of bad slash (gender of the author nonwithstanding) is written like het but with boy parts. There is good slash out there (written by women), but like anything else, it's not easy to find.

55. Looool. I understand, though. God, what I'd kill for the Britannians all speaking with British accents. That would be so hot and amazing. (Though it would probably leave the elevens speaking in american accents, which would cause untold wank) Lulu's american voice killed the dub for me too, but mainly just because it sounds prissy and childish. Which is what I expected his voice to be like before I watched the show, but having seen it, and heard his japanese voice, I just can't listen to it anymore. It is so wrong for him. =(

No, really. Giant font and stupidity notwithstanding, OH MY GOD WRITE IT. WRIIIIIITE IT. (And somehow let me know because I'd read it irregardless of pairings. No rly.)

That idea is exactly exactly exactly what that fandom needs - a long story with politics and captured pilots and violence. Thus far the fandom is made of short fics with little plot and a lot of smut. Which is great, but speaking as someone who is used to older fandoms, I miss the long fics. I miss fics that actually integrate things like the world, like politics and violence, into a fic.

And don't worry about the ships. I mean, there's an awful lot of people in the 00 fandom who ARE a little all-or-nothing with their ships, but there's also other people who are undecided about most ships, or willing to read anything that sounds good. Imo, the ships aren't as important as the fic itself.

And uh, hopefully the enthusiasm didn't scare you away. >> I'm just really intrigued by the idea of what sounds by a fantastic G00 fic.


67. I miss when there was a lot of new porn there. I'm not sure I ever found anything I'd call good, but there was at least stuff I hadn't read, once upon a time.

"Yes, I think you'd better." drabbles both annoy me and make me scared that this is all the fandom wants. It's nice to know I'm not the only one craving meatier fics (I hate writing sex, too, though I do, do it on occasion, which can equal death for longer fics these days, it seems...)

5. Oh, shut the hell up. I've read several volumes of Dragonball, City Hunter, and Yuyu Hakusho. There's 'even half' for you. All failed to give me any long-term interest.

I never got shit from my former gamer buddies for being a girl. ...but the reason they are my former gaming buddies is because they were sexist douchebags who thought I was so wonderful and sparkly and special just because I could hold a controller and have a vagina at the same time. It was patronizing as hell and just as horrible (but a different direction of horrible). I seriously cannot stand the attitude, either way it falls.

And don't even get me started on those fucking sales clerks with all the "oh, are you buying that for your boyfriend?"

... i guess it is patronizing. xD sorry, i was just in an argument with some anons about me not thinking that the positive reactions i got for being a girl were sexist. thinking about it and seeing this vent kind of makes me realize that it is rude. i was never really put on a pedestal though, which is why i guess i didn't interpret it as patronizing.

41. You know, the show is actually pretty good. You might want to check it out sometime to figure out what the fuss is about.

As for the generic slash, this is one of the reasons I've been keeping myself to Jack x everyone but Ianto PWP and multichaptered porn with plot. I've noticed a glut of "two bland people in a random place with a random prop" porn going on, and sure it's fun once or twice, but it gets old really fast. I've already read essentially the same fic in my old fandom. I don't need to read it again with different names attached.
