Have you ever accidentally killed an animal?

Cos I did today. I opened the back door to chuck out a spider that I'd rescued from my bathroom and when I closed the door I noticed that it was binding a bit. Being an old door and the weather being damp, I didn't think much of it. But then when I went outside later on I noticed a tail sticking out of the upper part of the door near the hinges. When I opened the door, there was a very squashed gecko in the door frame. I'm so sad and guilty about it, poor little dude :(

I've both run over a squirrel and hit a bird with a car (can't be 100% certain the bird died, but it's likely it was too injured to survive). I also once accidentally chopped through a snake with a shovel. It was underground and I didn't know it was there until I started turning over the sod I'd just cut through. I also killed a frog in a similar way.

I hit a rabbit while driving on the highway a few years ago.
Also ran over a slug with my bike and was surprised at how guilty I felt about it. Digusted, yes, but guilty? Come on, it was just a slug... Nope, still sorry for the poor ugly squished thing.

I posted a secret a while ago, a fairly innocuous cutesy thing about how walking like Lara Croft when I was an awkward 12-year-old gave me super duper confidence. I thought it might attract a handful of "awww sweet, good for you" comments at best, but suddenly, a wild wank appeared! Turns out being empowered by gen 1 Lara is Not Okay. Maybe I'm naive, but I genuinely didn't see that one coming.

Are there any that really stand out to you, that from the first moment you were like WOW I AM ON BOARD (even if some of them don't live up to the beginning, haha)

For me, I'll always remember the opening scene of Fullmetal Alchemist, because that was epic. The first two episodes of The Blue Exorcist were really great, too.

In games, I really liked the beginning of FFX (not the scene with the group by the campfire, but when Tidus' game is interrupted by Sin. That was some awesome shit going down).

I really hate the GRE.

Most of the grad schools I want to go to need them, the ones that don't require them for financial aid, and I have a disadvantage because I'm very bad at math and haven't touched it since my SATs (probably a bad move).

No matter how hard I try, I'm not doing any better on the math sections. The practice programs I'm signed up for are expensive, long, boring, and don't really help my score. Failing over and over has gotten really depressing.

I just wish my future didn't ride on these stupid tests.

What field are you going into? If it's not a math-y area, I don't think doing poorly on the math section is necessarily going to sink you or anything.

I'm usually not one for random lawsuits, but if your previous university let you get a bachelors degree without ensuring that you had high school level math skills, you've got a pretty good case for a class action. I'm sure you can't be the only recent grad who is realizing that you need basic algebra and geometry to move ahead in your academic career.
