It's so hot when it's done well. I think it might be one of the hottest tropes, when done well. But it's almost never done well. I think a lot of people write dirty talk based on some idea of like... "Oh, this is what good dirty talk is 'supposed' to look like". And that just ends up feeling artificial and stilted.

Agreed. And I feel like it could have started at a point more connected to the series and still have ended with the same character arc for him, so it's like the weird change was for nothing.

Still love them both, though, and the "Uncle Wen" stuff was cute.

I got back into it about a year ago, and it sure has gone places. I had no idea about some of the theories going around, but it’s pretty awesome how early she put groundwork in for the plot twists!

There are some good KHR/MHA crossovers being written, but the fandom has gone pretty quiet these days.
Heck, I'm not sure I can even remember all the pairing names anymore! 5927, 1869, 10051... Strange times...
