161. I'm sad PD is being cancelled, but I don't think even Brian Fuller can fix Heroes. Personally I think they should start over with a new cast but keep HRG, because I love him.

161: Personally I think they should start over with a new cast but keep HRG, because I love him.

Before season two happened, I could have sworn I read somewhere that every season was going to follow an almost entirely new cast. I rather liked the idea; kinda like an anthology show, only switching every season instead of every episode.

104 - That is SO going in my mental list of the best "I'd hit it" lines.

106 - I'm with you there. There's nothing wrong with discussing it, it's just lame when people take it so seriously, as demonstrated by how offended people are getting from this secret. There's a difference between spending your time participating in fandom and making it as if your life revolves around you proving your otp is canon.

116 - Go somewhere and request Bohemian Rhapsody. Your dream will come true. People cannot resist singing along to that song, I swear :D

119 - Mulan will always be awesome. True fact.

158 - That's sweet. Bill & Ted are the best.

101 19th century heroines weren't all weak and without ambition, either.

119 Sleeping Beauty is still a good movie, Jesus Christ. Enjoy it for the amazing art direction and animation alone (psychedelic colors, medeival art influence, etc.), or the fact that the princess actually had a mother/parents (and that there were some strong female characters in it). Also, honestly, the story wasn't all that hard to follow. What's wrong with you?

142 All I can think about is that episode of Venture Brothers. "I am this close to seeing Dolly's goods!"

157 You're prejudiced. It's not up to you to decide for other races what subculture they belong in. So kindly eat a dick.

162 I wish I could find all the art I did when I was younger. I wrote and illustrated an entire book with colored pencil (as in, a hardbound book) in the 7th grade and I have no idea what happened to it. My whole life has been a series of creating works that I later destroy out of self-consciousness or whatever.

167 I like this one because at least you're honest with the fact that you have a problem, which is good. Now you can take the steps you need to fix that problem.

I actually walked away from 'Wicked' with a very bad taste in my mouth due to Elpheba's total breakdown when Fiero died, her inability to care for herself or her child, or even remember or mentally cope with the fact that he was her child and her subsequent actions toward that child and Fiero's family.

Her motivations went entirely to grief and guilt instead of strength. Her revenge was petty and without point and her final sacrifice wasn't out of nobility or in an effort to achieve something, but buried entirely in 'oh my god, I can't live without him, so why not make everyone else feel as bad as I do' and she died without accomplishing a damn thing, wallowing instead in why her life had no meaning without Fiero.

She became the opposite of a strong woman with his death, and she spent a great deal of the remainder of the book acting in a fashion that undermined even the pretense of having or wanting an existence outside her man. She could've become a virago, fighting for all downtrodden people and those who died, she could've raised her son to be a hero and a better man than his father, she could've stayed true to the memory of what she'd been fighting for and what he died for - and instead she wallowed in pointless self-pity to the point of losing herself.

In essence, the moment she lost her man, she lost everything - and she started making Bella Swan look good.

That does not any kind of strong woman make.

112:I haven't seen Romy and Michelle, but I have seen NATR, and looking at this picture almost makes me want to ship it too. It just feels like they were made for each other.

119:Exposed? You mean that they make tons of sequels to them? Yeah, I simply pretend they don't exist. ESPECIALLY the LbT sequels. I still love the original, though. It still manages to make me cry(Little Foot's moooom...;___;)

129:Whenever The Krusty Krab is involved in an episode, I always get hungry for a hamburger ^__^Eh, sorry, maybe slightly unrelated.

134:...I never saw Larsa as a trap. I knew he was a little boy the moment I saw him(I'm assuming it IS Larsa you're speaking of. If I'm wrong, sorry). I mean, the other traps you mention ARE crossdressing boys(Well, at least I know Bridget is - I don't know the other characters well enough to say). Larsa is not crossdressing. Unless I'm missing something that takes place later on in the game, I haven't played that far yet.

157:Not a Spawn fan, but I've never seen Spawn as a goth/metal character. Is he supposed to be that?(And now I can't stop wondering what a black goth would look like)

101. I realise this may come as a terrible horrible shock to you, but books are not actually always written with the idea that the people reading them should take the lead characters as role models. (In fact, most books which ARE written that way suck a lot. Sorry, they do.) Books are still written with female characters like this in them because women like this do in fact exist. (Also, if you are talking about the book I think you're talking about, I personally don't see her that way--but since you didn't mention any names, I won't either.) Authors are not obligated to give you role models. You should not actually assume when reading books that the main male and female character are the kind of people the author thinks all men and women should be like. Shockingly, many authors don't believe that all women (or all men) should be alike. I like Elphaba, and I also like Bella Swan. I'm not very much like either of them. I like Sailor Uranus, and I also like Sailor Moon. It's nobody's place to tell writers that certain types of characters are off limits. There's room in the world for them all. Not everyone has to be Bella Swan. But surely not everyone has to be Xena, either.

108. While I never joined in with the mocking, a lot of my friends hate it and I was prepared to, until my best friend read it and liked it. Guess what? It's not that bad. And you should read the other books. I'm halfway through the fourth book, which is certainly deeply flawed, but you know what? Flaws and all, I'm more likely to re-read Breaking Dawn than I am to ever read the last two Harry Potter books. Which sucked way worse. Stephenie Meyer, exactly like JKR and Anne Rice, and Stephen King for a while there, suffers from "I sell so many books nobody edits me any more" syndrome. The fourth book should have been two or three much shorter ones and the OMG SPESHUL POWERS in it should have been toned down some, but as long as you can read it with the understanding that most of the characters aren't actually human and shouldn't be expected to act as if they were, it's not a bad read and she does give logical explanations for all the weird behaviour in the first three books, which the "I want feminist treatises disguised as novels, because young readers can't be trusted to tell the difference between fantasy and reality in a novel that contains frickin' vampires" contingent prefers to ignore.

110. Me too.

120. Edward is SUPPOSED to be weird and socially awkward and twitchy. People who think he is supposed to be suave and romantic amuse me; I wonder what books they read. I didn't get that version.

144. I like Ruby rather a lot, but it does seem like the CW finally got what they wanted (and Kripke didn't) this season. I still trust Kripke though; he kept Jo the little sister and Bela the enemy they both so clearly were, and Anna's gone. And there's not much One Tree Hill about Castiel.

The problem with this secret isn't that you're wrong in your opinion, it's just that I feel it's kind of ridiculous to hate people for liking his portrayal of the character.

I've read the books and I don't really like them, but I do like Robert Pattinson and I think that, of the available people who would have actually gone for the part, he was probably the best choice.

The issue is that Edward is an OMG INHUMANLY BEAUTIFUL MALE character that sways everyone that sees him and is so insanely gorgeous that no one would ever call him unattractive. Sadly for the movie business, different people have different tastes in men. There is no 'perfect Edward' out there, because one of the reasons he is considered so beautiful is the fact that he's a vampire -- it enhances his appearance (essentially by magic, a way to attract his natural prey). No human being can be that. And no human actor can be every single fan's perfect Edward, because of the variance in personal taste.

As far as I'm concerned, an actor that most people find attractive, the majority of the fans like in the part, who doesn't take the story too seriously and is able to look at the character critically and do even a remotely decent job is a good choice for Edward. Since people like him as Edward, for the most part, I think he probably deserves the role. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know how well his acting is in it, but Christ, vampire movies? Fucking rife with terrible acting. I think most actors who aren't still 'beginners' wouldn't even consider Twilight, and especially a vampire movie about a teenage boy vampire would be more difficult because the potential actors would likely be even more inexperienced than if the character was an adult.

So, yeah, it's fine to hate Robert as Edward because the character is so ridiculously perfect that no one person could ever -be- that for everyone, but I think it's just a little off to hate other people who like him in the part. There's just no point in it.

Again.

Yeah, no kidding.

As for "I'm glad the movie sucked!": Frankly, I think it would have been cool if the screenwriter would have been able to take the book, remove the annoying and schmaltzy parts, and make it a good movie. And, btw, the movie being bad doesn't prove a damn thing. Plenty of shitty movies have been made from good source material (Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, for example), and good movies can be made from crappy sources (most people think the movie Jaws is loads better than the book).

It can't feel good, and you should listen to that, and get help to realize that even if you do need to lose weight, there is a healthy way to do so.

People don't accept you for who you are where I live. And I was totally happy the way I was. I never considered myself fat and I knew I wasn't overweight. But... if you don't fit a perfect size or don't act a certain way, you're pushed aside and disliked. And I tried to do the healthy thing for months but then I got sick of not seeing results (whether they were there or not... I guess I don't really know). So I did what I thought would help me. I figured, if I forced myself for just a little while- enough to lose that weight- I'd be able to stop and be happy. But now I can't and I don't know what to do.
