I have a false memory of Hux from Star Wars that it has taken me months to place. Tonight I finally realised that the scene I was 'remembering' from Star Wars wit Hux, was actually... Seth Green in Austin Powers laughing evilly at the end of Goldmember. Ooooops.

Sometimes, when I'm driving, a voice in my head tells me to swerve into the wrong lane or speed up and hit the mountainside. I'm not suicidal and I'd never do anything like that, but I still get those thoughts from time to time.

I think a lot about potential objects for demons to posses if I could summon and bind hem to it - mainly trying to think of something ridiculous like a plastic bottle with glued-on felt arms or a furby to double the evil.

I don't really believe in the supernatural nor do I intend to ever put in the work for summoning anything. But I do think about it.

Who are these people who are old enough that Clueless being 25 years old makes then feel old, but young enough that it doesn't occur to them to specify that when they are talking about The Parent Trap they mean the Lohan version? What age even is that?

I have no idea how to be 'zen' when at work. It's work. By being there and engaging in the whole 'work' thing, that inherently feels like the antithesis of zen.

Also, balsamic vinegar tastes so good but I can't find anything that I like other than toasted bread to eat with it.

D&D is a bad choice of game for Tumblr-Twitter-queer-fandom-y roleplaying circles to play (both because it's badly designed for most purposes and because WotC sucks), and the actual game those people should be playing is Exalted 3E which is completely perfect for that scene in every way

But I think previous editions of Exalted poisoned the well and it's hard enough to get people bought in on anything other than D&D

I am so fucking scared of getting the flu. I've had covid and it's screwed my body up and I genuinely don't know if flu would kill me or not.

I'm going to get the shot but the last few times I had it I caught it anyway so. Yeah. Fuck.

Me participating in an October 31 Days/31 Fics challenge has the potential to wreak a lot of havoc in the fandom I'll be posting for. I'm feeling... deliciously chaotic and very much in the mood for it.

I don't know what I'll do if the chump in chief gets another term, or, more likely, loses but has his kangaroo supreme court declare him the winner on some bs pretext like mail ballots not counting unless they're counted by midnight on November 3.

I can donate money and wave a protest sign, but I've done those things and it didn't stop him or even slow him down. People talk about revolution like antifascists and socialists are gonna be joined by rank and file democrats and idk, lob molotov cocktails at maskless maga-hat wearing republicans while they shoot at us because maga-cultists are the ones with gun and ammo stockpiles, as though that would solve anything.

I'm just feeling hopeless and scared right now and fuck I'm tired of stewing in learned helplessness.

Been trying to work out a new plan for my social media and with next month being october it's like "hmm, maybe I should come up with some halloween themed adds for my werewolf books..."

and just out of nowhere... "why not call them cozy werewolf dramas."

It's not a LIE. They are dramas. They have found family and slow burn romance and the town/community is "small."

I've been trying to sell them as science fantasy action adventure things, and no one is biting. it sucks to think maybe I've been doing the wrong demo for a while. But good grief, I'm not really a marketing specialist.

we'll see. throw it at a wall. see if it sticks. Sigh.

I could go back to university and have another go at getting a degree, but I'm afraid if I fail again it'll push me over the edge. It's easier to not try and think 'if I tried I'd succeed!', than to actually try and risk failing.

At the same time, I know that if I try to keep living as I am, this holding pattern I'm in will gradually decay, and I'll fall into that pit anyway. I have to do something, but action is frightening.
...fuck I need to get a therapist.

The other day a woman asked me if I had had any work done on my mouth - obviously, in context, referring to cosmetic procedures of some sort - and I was just so baffled in the moment that it took me a good five minutes to realise it was more or less a compliment? I mean, she thought that my mouth was nice enough that I might have paid someone several thousand dollars to get it that way.

...I wasn't even wearing lip balm.

I thought Grace and Frankie was a show about an old married lesbian couple having fun domestic adventures. This wasn't a show about domestic lesbians. Honestly I'm starting to think I like my idea of Netflix more than actual Netflix.

Starting this thread mainly because I watched Enola Holmes last night and was surprised by how good it is! It's one of those rare movies that I would recommend without reservation to most people. Not in an "it'll change your life" way, but in a "it's very fun and all-round enjoyable" way.
