111. The writers of NCIS aren't going to make Tony a boy scout just for you. Real people have flaws, and it's way more interesting to speculate and realize why Tony acts the way he does. If that's all you see in him, just stop watching the show. After five seasons, you should see WAY more to him than that.

169. I actually really really dislike hearing this over and over from Merlin fans. They say the same things about other fandoms too - Torchwood, Robin Hood, Supernatural, Heroes - whatever. You're in the FIRST season. Everything starts out pretty awesome, but it'll get worse as it gets larger. Not to be mean, but it's inevitable. More fans mean more opinions means more conflict means more wank. It'll happen. Best you can do is always be happy in the fandom you *choose* to participate in. And by all means, please don't stick around SPN fandom if you hate it.

There is a LOT more to it than that and though that issue is there it's amidst several others - it's no where near the most important I think. The reason it's actually called Rent isn't just because of that but also because of, how shall I put it, another way the word can be used.

The season three and four spoilers turned me off the show. I'm still glad my good memories of the first two seasons aren't too spoiled by the rest. I know there are extremely good eps and fantastic acting in the last seasons, but I hate where the storyline is going and I'd rather not subject myself to it. Also, I know myself; I'd get back in the fandom and the wank would give me an ulcer and I don't need that.

I get where you are coming from. I remember checking out fandom and being surprised at how much everyone loved Tony. I don't hate him, but seriously? He's a jackass regardless if it's a cover for his true squishy feelings. I esp. can't stand his homophobic taunts at McGee. But oh, that's just apparently what boys do to each other. It's brotherly!

Not to be mean or anything, but the "homophobic taunts" thing... I have all types of guy friends. Some gay, some straight, one of them bisexual even. They all do those kind of jokes (in separate friends groups, half of them don't even know the other half in person). It's most certainly not what every group of boys do to each other but it's a very common thing to do and is usually harmless.

You sound like a young slash fan. An articulate and nice one, don't get me wrong, but one nevertheless. The world isn't as gay-hating as internet makes it out to be.

The fandom is just set straight to "bitch and hate" mode, and there's no expecting them to empathize with a character, period. I'm almost more surprised when they do!
