Bruce Wayne in theory does a bunch of philanthropic stuff, but unfortunately helping people by means other than beating up bad guys is never a focus of the plot or anything

He can't really exist as a sympathetic character if the story's always asking how many children a Batmobile could feed

I saw some meta once about how Bruce Wayne should be a multi-millionaire, not a billionaire, and it was very good! Billionaires are so incredibly, stupidly wealthy that he would be able to buy his way out of most of Gotham's problems, and he just...doesn't. A multi-millionaire is personally extremely wealthy and can buy all his bat-toys and fund the Justice League etc. but he can't, say, house every single needy person in Gotham.

I don't think I've ever 'related' to any character on tv, other than in the most superficial way possible (they like lemon drops! yay!). I mean...they're characters in a made-up world (even those based on real-world events). Why *should* i relate?

Weirdly, I relate to Superman more just cause he’s adopted like me. Except he gets to know about his origins and he’s adopted by a loving family.

I can't really feel too superior because if I had Bruce Wayne's money I wouldn't be fighting crime, I'd be sitting around on my ass doing absolutely nothing in luxurious comfort... and my butler wouldn't be picking up my stuff because that's what maids are for.

Oh yes! This! I had a lot of problems with this show and always hated when it came on. I always felt like she and her mother were far more sinister than the laugh track wanted me to know.

It’s worth noting that young me did not understand how there were two Darrens and I was especially conflicted about feeling sorry for JR Ewing (this was right about the time headlines around the world were asking who shot him). …I wasn’t very bright LOL

The Bad: I am in so much pain. I am going through the super fun process of finding out what foods cause me severe pain and I thought I had it down for the most part but today a "safe" food has turned on me.

The Good: I had an unexpected day off today so I didn't have to struggle through work with this pain!
