The 90's was full of stuff that's extraordinarily corny once you look back on it...I remember watching the Nostalgia Critic's take on a number of those shows.

I think it's just a lot of nostalgic attachment that blinds everyone to how not great these shows were. The Nostalgia Critic called out some of these shows on how boring or not funny they were. On the one hand, I can agree that a lot of the shows weren't that great watching them again, but then again, some of the shows are actually a lot of fun to watch, stupid as they were (Double Dare, for example).

And, if anyone speaks ill of "Pete & Pete", I turn a deaf ear. That show was brilliant.

Meh. I don't even think about these shows and I was at the right age (and watched them). Mainly because I knew they weren't that great then, but hell, they were on, why not. Except Roundhouse. I liked Roundhouse.

I'm pretty sure Saved by the Bell was the golden age of television (j/k).

Aw, that's really unfortunate... as I used to watch ALL those shows with great enjoyment. But I understand having found them annoying or cheesy even back then ^^

Dude I loved Ren and Stimpy as a kid and when I youtubed some of it recently I was struck by A. how disgusting it could be and B. how much some of the content clearly went over my head. I'm not sure if adult me actually likes it, or if its just the nostalgia talking.

I think what gets me about 90s nostalgia is people like my cousin who was born in 96 going on about how awesome it all was and I'm like...I was born in 85 and can remember literally the last year and a half of the 80s. That's it. I'm probably more 90s kid than 80s kid in spite of existing for half of the 80s.

Dude, Legends of the Hidden Temple was AWESOME.

I can sort of agree with the rest of those shows being sub-par, however. I used to love All That but I'm sure if I watched some of those old episodes today I'd think it was lame.

...except Goodburger, obvs.

Don't diss on All That. It was stupid as hell and that's what made it fun. Besides, Josh Server was easy on the eyes. ;)

I'm not big on game shows or sketch shows now, but it's funny...I adored all of these as a kid. Of course interests sometimes change as you grow up, but I had a lot of fun watching these shows as a kid and doubt I could hate them now, even with the age difference. To each their own though.

As for kids tv today...no comment, since I don't watch much of it. (Except Ben 10 & Generator Rex. I tried Young Justice but couldn't get into it.)

Was All That and the Amanda Show really the same time as Ren&Stimpy and Double Dare? Because I remember watching the latter, but the former I thought was something that came a bit later.

Or wait...wasn't there a 2nd gen reboot of Double Dare? Maybe I'm thinking of an earlier show. Hmm.

Yeah the whole "90's were the best!!! Cartoons today suck!!" people can be pretty obnoxious. I love my childhood as much as the next person, but it's not like everything back then was good and there are NO good cartoons anymore. I'd take Legend of Korra over Catdog any day.

nostalgia is notorious for clouding peoples' judgement. none of us had good taste when we were 10, and not a lot of people go back to rewatch the shit they so adamantly praise. while i WILL admit i am still fond of ren and stimpy, very few of my childhood favourites have stood up to the test of time

i'm going to be so relieved when people come to terms with the fact that the 90s were hardly a special decade. i know that this will never actually happen, but a dude can dream

Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Salute Your Shorts, and Legends of the Hidden Temple were the greatest. (Except for when no one could fucking figure out how to put together the damn monkey in the Shrine of the Golden Monkey. Then I wanted to rage.)

I actually liked most of those, at least a little, but Hey Dude... ugh that show was the most boring thing ever. All I can remember is groaning whenever I turned on Nickelodeon as a kid and that was on.

Speaking of shows from that time period... what was the one where there was this boy (maybe he was a younger teen?) who in the real world was in a coma but we see that he's been transported to a fantasy world where he's the leader of this group of kids or something like that. I think later on in the series he wakes from the coma but is still able to go back to that world ... no idea for sure but now I'm curious to look it up if I can remember the name of it...

I love a lot of nineties shows, but I hate when people say today's kids' shows are bad. Phineas and Ferb, Adventure Time, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Yo Gabba Gabba, and iCarly are all currently airing and are really great!

I'm glad you didn't put a picture of Hey Arnold in there. I've been watching episodes of it recently on Teenick, and I love it even more than I did when I was younger.

idk man...what I liked about 90s television is that there was such a VARIETY of show types. Sure, there was crap, but at least there were plenty of other programs to choose from. Now it's like you either get storylines about kids trying to become pop stars or stoner cartoons with no plot (with a very, very few watchable shows in between.)
