Do you really expect them to be able to write 4-5 new songs per episode? Hell, at least the actors have to be able to sing a bit - that's more talent than a lot of high-school shows have.

I repeatedly watch the music videos on their VEVOs instead of buying mp3s. They're still making money off of youtube/their channels. Do you count giving video views as supporting the artist as well, or will only a cold hard cash transfer do?

Normally judging secrets are so wanky but... I agree. I do have serious money problems, and I go out of my way to buy my fandom's stuff - even the crappy stuff - because they're awesome and they put so much hard work into it, and I want to support them.

Yeah, I did that once for someone who I considered a friend on deviantart.

They had a minor freak-out about it and started making posts to the extent of "NO ONE EVER SHOULD DRAW MY CHARACTERS BUT ME."

I have zero sympathy for someone who remains engaged with online fandom and show news during a spoiler period, the same way I have no sympathy for someone with severe allergies who devours the food they are allergic to.

Hint, get offline until it's safe to go back. Your control-freak martyrdom is just dumb and easily avoidable.

I would say it counts if you do that and don't pirate the mp3s elsewhere. The vevos are there for fans to view for free (what else are they there for?) and artists make money off of ads and views.

And you both beat me to it. That's just how it goes. You have people making up fiction about real people, so yeah, you're going to get the creepy and the boundary-blurring. What's more, K-pop is heavy on pretty and pre-packaged image and light on talent, so it's going to appeal more to a younger audience, with all that having younger fans entails. (not that older fans can't be their own special brand of crazy.)
