how would one achieve this hair style? I don't necessarily mean the half updo, but I really like the mermaid wave, and I have no idea how to do this for myself. it's one of my favourite styles and I've never had it done!

You should be able to look it up on youtube. There are a lot of people who do tutorials for make up/hair/nails/etc on there.

Someone was talking the other day about being misgendered (cis female being thought of as a guy), and my first thought was "well that wouldn't be so bad"

followed by a "wait what."

I don't know what, if anything, that says about me. :/

(FTR, this isn't the first time I've thought about presenting as male, but it's the first time I actually consciously thought about it as such, rather then, "you know, It'd be cool to bind my breasts, and have a flat chest", or "man, I wish I had a deeper voice, I wonder what I can do to make that happen.)

somebody smack some sense into me

I've been going to the gym steadily for about two months now. five days a week (recently downgraded from six days a week) I'm there doing 35-60 minute workouts.

yesterday I had a really bad day and couldn't even finish a 30-minute run at my usual comfort speed without stopping for a minute to walk. I run at least 30 minutes daily so it was really startling. for the last ten minutes I was there I felt really winded and out of breath. my calves hurt really bad too. (ETA that I was hydrated and had eaten healthy that day.)

I decided to skip today's workout because it just felt like the right thing to do, and now I'm debating whether I should take the rest of the week off. on the one hand I want to, but on the other hand I'm terrified of getting fat so I'm hesitant.

can I get any opinions on what I should do? keep it up or just skip until monday? I really can't decide and it's driving me nuts.

I suppose I have a sort of weird method of creating poetry. It's never really a concerted desire to set out and make a poem. I get this rhythm in my head, like listening to a stream or river and hearing its unique pattern. There aren't any words, yet, just vague emotions, and a feel about the structure of a line. Then a single word comes into my head, and the rest of the poem is structured around that word. Writing is like a compulsion, because the poem fights to get out.

Here's one I created this evening. It's kind of crappy, but I feel like I got the imagery and sentiment in my head.

Some time ago I posted here about being attracted to jerks. Someone suggested I was a actually attracted to unavailable men, and this suggestion seems to be true. I recently hooked up with an adorable guy, really kind and sweet. Well,today he sent me a text saying he needed to talk to me. We met and he proceeded to tell me he wanted us to go back to just friends - im cool with that - because he's still hung up on his ex. And I swear at that second he became more attractive. The next second I was feeling disgusted by myself because really? Preying on confused, insecure men? How low can I get???

So on a site for a fandom I was doing a fanfiction for I asked if people would mind/ read a mystery subplot to a certain type of story because it added completeness to the story.

I won't go into specifics because it's a long story and I don't want to get made fun of for what I was writing or writing for. >.> <.<

But all I got in the way of "feedback" was "I don't like reading too much perspective change, you probably shouldn't do that" and I was a little bummed. I feel awful now for it. I shouldn't have put up the comment if I didn't like what I would get. I'm waiting for more feedback but now i find myself thinking

"I really wanted to do that though, It would really add to my story"

I guess I just wanted to talk with someone in detail about ideas I had.

For me, it's all about the Flipline games (www.flipline.com), especially the Gameria line. I get ridiculously invested in them, and I feel bad when I mess up a favorite customer's regular order.

So yesterday at Walmart, some guy comes up to me asking me to sign a petition to get a ballot measure to vote against this law California is passing that requires schools to have unisex bathrooms. I didn't care for his BS, so I said no, but some lady on the other side of the aisle signed it and fuck, I wanted to say something because he was peddling it like girls would be walking on boys using urinals (because stalls don't exist or something). But God forbid anyone take a shit in comfort, right?

Anyone have moments where they say things that would get them high-fived online, or at least in fandom, but in less fandomy online areas and IRL aren't as easy to say?

For instance, a few times I've made snarky comments about Twilight, because in fandom the books seem to be generally hated. Except all times, the people who I was saying them to ended up being avid fans who didn't get why I hated Bella or thought Edward was creepy. This happened on LJ too, but only once. I almost forgot there's people who actually really like the books.

Anyone else have these?

Anybody else disgusted with the change to YouTube's comments?
