I don't care one way or another about the shipping, but I have to admit, I enjoyed the lack of a romance subplot in CA2. It was really nice watching friends team-up to kick bad-guy ass.

BuckyNat shippers are so obnoxious with their "b-b-but it's canon in the comics, we're the best ship!1!" crap. I can't help but feel a lot of mirth over how Steve/Bucky has completely overshadowed everything in the wake of Winter Soldier.

but if it DOES become canon, I won't complain. So long as she STAYS a badass and is still her own character and undefined by her relationship.

I liked the idea of Natasha not being romantically involved too, but Scarlett herself has all but confirmed that Widow and Hawkeye are canon/will be canon in AoU.

Eh...I liked that Marvel didn't force a romance in this film because there was so much going on that it just wouldn't have made sense and would've felt out of place. I suppose they could've put flashbacks in with Bucky/Nat but the way the film played out, Bucky barely remembered Steve, so again, it probably wouldn't have worked. Natasha does say he shot her and gives the impression that's about it, but of course she could just be leaving out information. Either way I'd rather they didn't go there, but if they do it won't stop me from shipping Steve/Bucky because I was shipping that since Cap1 and nothing can stop me now.

Plus, it sounds like Nat/Clint is going to become a thing, and tbh I don't hate the thought of it. I think they would be cute together. If Marvel isn't going to make those two canon I'll be fine with that too, but they could do worse as far as pairings go. Yea, it isn't necessary, but...well, as long as it doesn't majorly detract from whatever else is going on. Maybe give them a throwaway line and move on.

If Nat/WS is explored, it might be in Sebastian's possible tenure as Captain America. Of course, I think Nat/Hawkeye is getting pretty canon so it might not happen at all.

No romance in Winter Solider was nice. I love action and friendship more than romance in action flicks.

I respect these movies a lot for having a great female character that is not a love interest. I don't think there is anything wrong with romance, but most of the time it feels like it's just put in there for the sake of romance. That's why it's refreshing when they don't do it at all. I hope this continues.

Their fight scene and Sebastian Stan's quotes are all I need to ship it in the Marvel filmverse tbh.

Honestly, the more I hear about this movie, the more I feel like I should actually give it a try and watch it.

I'm not overly against her being pared up with someone but I would kind of prefer if she wasn't, at least for a while. But I suppose if I had to pick I'd be good with Clint(or hell even Steve or Sam). But we'll have to wait and see if anything happens on that front, and we still don't know just how much of a connection WS and Nat do have in the MCU, it doesn't appear to be much atm but that could change down the line.

I was also glad of this, mostly because I think Bucktasha is boring in the comics and Bucky period is kind of boring in both mediums.

I don't mind Natasha being paired if it's done well though. I dislike the 'too busy being badass' for romance idea, because romance and badassery are not contradictory. I would prefer her being paired with Steve, that being said, if anyone.

I kind of feel this way too, even though I love Natasha/Bucky and they're probably my favorite comic book ship... It's just that it IS super annoying when the shippers act like N/B is the end-all be-all and how dare you ship Natasha with anyone else, even though there is no canon MCU Natasha ship.

Hmm, I keep hearing about the Bucky/Natasha shippers but I have yet to encounter one. I do kind of prefer Natasha staying single. If there's a movie, though, I can guarantee there will be an obligatory het love interest.

I'm not actually a fan of MCU or comics but just in a general sense, I disagree with this. The movies are based on the comics so I think they should have some loyalty to the original series. But, then again, comics are pretty unique in that the capes stories are so sprawling and they're not totally static in their depiction of characters and their relationships. I still kind of feel like if Character A and Character B have a thing going in the comics, it doesn't make sense to just put Character A and Character C together in the movies.

Personally, I ship TWS with Alexander Pierce (movie-verse), because if they aren't having non-con sex, I don't think that anyone involved is doing their job correctly.

Eh. I love that ship in the comics and DO hope it comes up later, even if just in like some Red Room flashback shit, but I was very comfortable with the lack of any canon ship in that movie.

It...doesn't work. So far we have nothing to show that Natasha is the half-century old she is in the comics, and she's likely only human as well. I don't think it would go well with MCU fans if we suddenly switched to the Widow's comic backstory.
