Christmas Wish Lists

So every year about this time, my family exchanges 'wish lists' for Christmas. Basically, ideas on things we'd like, though we often buy stuff outside the lists because we all know each other well enough to know the kind of things we like.

Apparently though, this is weird, and is like 'soliciting' gifts, which is rude.

So... do you guys exchange lists? Do you just buy whatever you think they'll like? Do you not give gifts/not celebrate any holidays in which gift-giving is a big part of that holiday?

We always do lists. There are always a few small presents, but our family decided a long time ago that it was better to give people something they actually want.

I pick out, purchase, and wrap my presents from my husband. If I didn't do this I'd be disappointed on Christmas morning (it's happened before). It's just easier this way, plus I always get exactly what I want.

When I was little I used to make a list sometimes, but nowadays my family's just like, "So anything in particular you're wanting for Christmas?" and go from there. We have a pretty good idea of what we all like, too, so that makes it much easier.

If I don't get a gift for someone for a gift-giving holiday, it's because I'm broke. But I usually try and make it up as best I can-a belated gift when I DO have money, or a card, or sometimes making something for someone.

My parents have jobs / buy whatever they want and I'm struggling from day to day so they understand.

I'll get one big thing and a handful of smaller things. This year I want a external HD.

We do lists, specifically on Amazon. It ensures everyone only gets what they want and not a bunch of shit they hate.

We do lists! There are eight people in my immediate family, so lists are actually really important, especially now that we're all over the place geographically. You can't keep up with everyone's interests and preferences!

Highlights include:
-First 30 minutes being a slapfight.
-No handshake!
-Trump humping a chair.
-Awkward zooms onto Clinton's face.
-*sniff*
-Trump saying that if president he will use his power to persecute his opponent.
-That fly.
-Trump lies! So many to choose from (Warren Buffet not paying taxes, NO HE DID NOT TWEET ABOUT THAT SEX TAPE!, He doesn't know Putin.)
-And one of the best...Trump said that Canadians come to the USA allll the time for medical procedures. Because that is how awesome OUR healthcare system is.

Another weird new slang thing.

men loving men and women loving women. I guess it's useful as a catch-all for gay/bi/pan men or women, but they also tend to be obsessed with moodboards and weird "positivity" posts and generally weird stuff like little rants about how much they love boys/girls with no punctuation. BUT the two must always stay separate, one of the worst things someone can do is post about girls on the boy posts or vice versa.

How to promote yourself for Commmission

So I'm having trouble getting hours and looking for a second job. I'm trying to find ways to earn money while I'm looking. I'm trying to constantly work on my art and get commissions, but I've been struggling to actually get them.

How do you get people to actually want to commission you. I can do art. I'm just shy about promoting myself. But I need to so I can get money to pay health insurance while I'm looking.

Brushing your teeth /habits??

I'm very prone to cavities (pretty sure my mouth is like 60% fillings) but I'm really terrible at general oral health (Tooth...brush?? Whaaa??) and at times I do try to make it a habit to brush my teeth/floss/use mouthwash but I find myself making excuses (I'm still going to eat food tonight/drink something/ehh I'm not going out today/etc) and I really want to make a serious effort in making it a proper habit/routine but I just can't seem to get it. Advice?
