You're more likely to get cancer than not.


Cancers that had an incredibly poor prognosis even ten years ago are now becoming very treatable thanks to advances in research. tl;dr You'll probably get cancer, but it probably won't kill you.

Unpleasant fact of life: taxes.

What makes it a little better: infrastructure improvements! Like finally filling potholes! Actually I have a really good story that just happened to me: I just moved and there was one intersection on my new commute that was so dumb, the line to get through it was sooooo long with a lopsided timed cycle, mandatory left turn arrows etc. I mentioned this to my dad and he suggested reporting it. Then because he's curious and he does things like this, he looked up where to report it and made a request.

The light actually got noticeably better.

Dunno if it's because of his report, or solely because of it, but I've been very happy with it!

Lisa Whelchel grew up kind of crazy and wrote an awful parenting book that suggests doing things like clipping a clothespin on a child's tongue for mouthing off.

Mindy Cohn seems to have carved a niche for herself voicing Lego Velma Dinkley in video games, and supposedly has a movie (not Scooby-Doo related) coming out next year.

Your take on Westworld?

I really really want to love it but I can't quite bring myself to do it. Everything from the acting to the visuals is suberb and I normally dig the whole "AI develops self-awareness and bites humans in the ass", and yet, I'm not feeling it.

I suppose it's because I don't care enough about any of the characters. I know I should feel for them, but I just don't and I don't know how to pinpoint the exact reason for that.

How about you guys?

I watched the first episode and was kind of 'meh' on it. You're right, it was visually appealing and well acted, I don't know quite why I wasn't hooked enough to even make it to episode two.

I love it. I've only watched episode 1 & 2 but I really enjoyed both of them. The music is fantastic as is the cinematography. I love the Man in Black as a villain (probably due to Ed Harris's acting). I quite like Dolores and can't wait to see how the story goes with her.

I hope this does well enough that we get to see some of the other worlds (Medieval and Roman). I mean, they got the sets for the first ones at least!

I saw a post on tumblr that boiled down to "DD/lg is gross because a child thinks that "Daddy" is a sexualized term" and while I think it's weird that kid thought that,

1. That was a thing before DD/lg because A Thing To Hate on Tumblr (sexy "Daddy" comments) and

2. Why the fuck aren't the parents of this child monitoring their kid's internet usage? Why is it everyone else's fault that the kid saw something ~uncouth~ instead of the parent's for not being better at being parents?
