152. Because sometimes, friends just aren't enough no matter how special they are to you. Because sometimes it's pathological and no matter how well their life is going, they will never be able to be happy until they get treatment because they are physically unable to be happy. It's great that your friend was able save you, but unfortunately not everyone is as lucky as you were.

It's probably a better idea to seek help because you never know if your depression is the dehabilitating, chronic disease version, which you will usually require medication to reverse/handle, or if it is purely emotional. Better safe than sorry.

I feel the same way most of the time. Considering I'm considerably older than you and could have given birth to most of my fandom friends. I look at all the trauma and wank they create for themselves and mostly I want to tell them they are not the only ones, nor the first, to feel that way. That they should really choose their battles more wisely.

I sometimes can't believe myself for getting caught up in such things. Luckily, age and experience have taught me to step back and consider the consequences before acting. One day, they'll learn that, too.

Actually, if you look at it, the OP listed both the obnoxious things and also... well, almost everything that is in fandom. Fanfiction, fanart, conventions, roleplay, bandom (... being fans of bands is bad? yeah, bandoms can be retarded but hating bandom as a whole is- well, kind of like hating fandom as a whole, I guess!), soundtracks, memes, hetfic... Calling all of that obnxious is kind of- yeah. What?

127. I liked them both for different reasons. There were parts of the anime that seemed more realistic than the manga (Raiel's standing grudge, for example). But I have to say that the substandard animation quality and the way that Pandora was portrayed both made me prefer the manga. Also? Animation aside, things were WAY too drawn out in the anime.

Of course, in fandom, it's not always just the women. It's the men, too. And that makes me wonder if fandom itself isn't a little sexist towards men, or perhaps even homo-ignorant — despite their leanings toward slash — because they assume that LOL MEN WILL JUST TAKE IT HOWEVER THEY'LL GET IT EVEN IF IT MEANS PLUGGING THE BUTTHOLE OF ANOTHER MAN!!1

Rape is about control and/or humiliation (which makes me wonder why the hell they would want their favorite characters become victims, wtf? ...and it really says something about them when they want it to happen to their least favorite characters). Rarely is sexual desire the sole basis for it. They don't seem to understand that people find rape deplorable; it's a crime for a reason.
