Despite an interesting title and an interesting premise, the episode goes in unexpected yet pedestrian directions. It's not a good sign when you want MORE of the characters to get attacked by the local wildlife.

Not the holiday specifically, but I hate how hard it is to find clothes that are nice and warm enough to wear this time of year.

I can't stand my extended family when there are too many of them, and I can't stand my parents either when it's only just the three of us. I need just a couple of siblings or cousins to reach the perfect balance on my social awkwardness scale.

I hate being sick over the holidays. I hate even more being unemployed because one of the ways I show love is by picking out the perfect gift for people. And I couldn't do it this year. Argh.

Also, kitty, you got so many great new toys. And yet, you still want to play with my feet and my headphones. I love you, but now I have to shell out $30, almost my entire January spending money, for a new pair.

I hate opening presents when people are focusing on you. That is why Christmas is better than birthdays. No one watching to see how you respond to gifts.

Holidays have always been a constant battle ever since I got really really bad adult-onset allergies. I always got the vibe they were 'humoring' my 'paranoia'. So years passed have had big fights between my narcissist sister who insists stuff I'm ridiculously allergic to is 'traditional', and me pointing out not only is it dangerous, but no one even likes it! It never gets eaten!

This year, after being told they wouldn't, the dangerous dishes made an appearance and I decided to bite my tongue because Christmas. No one even ate any! But cross-contamination is a thing.

Of course I got really sick and spent Christmas night and the next couple days miserable.

The small silver-lining, I have already told them they can take their 'but fambly!' and 'traditional!' and shove it, I'm not sticking around for food anymore, that way they can have their display crap and I can live. It'll be easier on all of us, and honestly I don't know why they get so offended when I suggest it'll just be so much easier if I handle my allergies and they handle their dinner and we focus on the stuff we can easily do together.

I told my sister about this guy I've just started seeing and her immediate response was "ZOMG DID U SLEEP WITH HIM YET???" No sis, I didn't sleep with him yet, we've been on ONE date and it wasn't that kind of date. Some people like to take things slow, so CHILL. Then she made innuendo at me for a while. She's always been a "sex first, get to know you afterwards" type and I am the opposite, which she ought to know after all this time, so it is really annoying how she tends to act like her methods of dating are the default and like I'm somehow weird for not following them.

I need to write a thank-you card but right now it is the last thing I want to do. Traditionally it's the opportunity to exchange notes about what's been going on in my life, and there is absolutely nothing good to report.

Captain America in the Joss Whedon directed movies. He throws out all characterization from the previous movies because he needs someone for (quippy, Joss Whedon character type) Tony Stark to bounce against.

Most things about the Tolkien movies but I'll stick with Tauriel here because she could've been great but she ended up being all the worst parts of Hollywood media.

My NOTP becoming canon. I still have self-indulgent fantasies of convincing the writing staff to retcon it by, like, saving one of the staff's kids (or pets, or favorite delivery driver, I don't actually know anything about these people) from a speeding train or something ridiculous and that's all I ask for in repayment.
