184. Actually, the main reason I'm apprehensive about Smith is that I'm afraid he'll play the part too much like Tennant did, and that Eleven as a character will be too much like Ten. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to pass my final judgment on his being cast just yet, but both his appearance and his manner in the one interview make me wary. :(

Today's Hetalia secrets seem less mature than usual, if that's even possible. Way to be, guys!

There's a German-language site called animexx.de that has 31 Galactik Football fanfics on it, and I've seen a few in Polish scattered around the Internet, as well as a couple in French. Those are pretty divided fandoms, though, and honestly, the German and French fanfics aren't actually all that good either. They make me cringe. A lot.

The main Galactik Football community on ff.net mostly consists of people from all over Europe -- myself included -- trying to write in English, since that's the lingua franca and the way to make sure that your fic is understood by most people. There are people there who state in their profile that they'd write fic but their English isn't good enough and they don't have a big enough audience if they write in German.

That's stupidly depressing for me because it means that I have nothing to read and I can't flatter myself that I'm a good writer -- I'm just practically their only option.

Okay, okay... sarcasm aside... I really have nothing against the fandom. Honest. I only wish the people IN the fandom were honest that most of them are there for the yaoi and nothing more. The insistence that most of them are in it for the history is irritating. The series isn't historically accurate and like a previous secret said, history is about the people not the countries and their stereotypes. Where the hell do you get history from a series like this??

Okay, sorry for that. I just had to get that off my chest.

Yes, OK, Hetalia fans, I get it. Hetalia made you less dumb and is innocent fun (still better than setting the cat on fire), and you fans are actually quite intelligent and mature, except the few who hate Canada for its bagged milk. Got it. Moving on.

178. I like it when the original soundwords are kept:
a) it is unrealistic to expect the companies to redraw the soundwords well, especially in some series where the soundwords are hard to seperate from the drawings.
b) God, I used to read Glénat manga before they changed their soundward policy. Back then, they would plaster huge, ugly soundwords over the original. They all had the same style and the idea behind it was obviously not conveying a sound, but rather obscuring the original Japanese soundword. So they made no sense (everything sounds like KLAK SHA!) and they often blocked out the drawings, including characters' arms and even faces. I was so happy when Glénat decided to keep the Japanese soundwords unedited whenever it would mean interfering too much with the artwork. Made it much nicer to look at.

But I agree on the rest, on principle. Typos and misplaced text is extremely annoying, especially the latter.
