I think I pretty much agree. Then again, that whole relationship felt too forced to me, and it just seemed too convenient that Naomi happened to be in love with Emily back. But IA 100% that if it were the other way around, a straight person persuing a gay person like that, the fandom would have reacted with hate.

Two things, anon: 1) anyone who'd look down on you for such a petty reason isn't someone worth trying to impress in the first place, and 2) at any rate, petty and non-petty people alike tend not to be very impressed when they realize that you're only faking interest in whatever you're talking about.

161. That's funny, you'd think a potential canon!couple would be just as popular as a non!canon couple. I'm only on the Sheldon/Penny comm and relatively new to the fandom on the whole, but I'm sure there's a Leonard/Penny comm and the general TBBT com where you can hang out it. And if there isn't an L/P, then make one, as you can see, there'd be lots of people joining it.

For me when I first started watching TBBT, I went along with what the writers wanted us to feel for. With Leonard pining over Penny and that maybe in the long run Penny would feel the same. As this was the formula in Friends with Ross & Rachel (who had chemistry starting almost from the pilot), I had no problems with that (even though the small slasher in me toyed with Leonard/Sheldon for a while).

But as the show went on, I couldn't help notice all the chemistry between Penny & Sheldon. As antagonistic as it was in the beginning, there was more going on w/ them than what was starting feel as a more forced chemistry between her and Leonard. The past few episodes have had more S/P interaction than L/P, and the few L/P we get is usually with the other guys or rather platonic.

And unless the writers decide to try something wholly new and different, I'm pretty sure L/P will eventually hit it off and become a couple. And that's fine.

At any rate, you take what you can enjoy from fandom. So what if you don't like a pairing, long as you don't mind your flist liking that pairing, do what you want. If you're a writer, start writing some drabbles or fics for L/P. Or if you're an artist do the same. If you're just a reader, than go look for L/P stuff and comment. Make the other active shippers feel appreciated and hey, you just make get more of what you want. And we can all win in fandom. =D

The writers aren't being cowards for writing a close, platonic male friendship and keeping it platonic. I adore slash pairings, but it annoys me when fans bash the writers for not doing something they never intended in the first place; isn't it a good thing that writers are exploring non-stereotypically macho friendships without relegating them to "this means you are gay"?

121-Well Wilson IS Dark, if he's been written in-character, and there's one rapefic that heavily influenced my early days in the fandom, but raping a retarded House? Really. This exists and there's more than one? That's not "dark," that's just crack.

155-There's not a doubt in my mind that have had and continue to have a sexual relationship, which is one reason why House is SO obsessed with Wilson's sex life and why NOTHING seems to hurt him as much as Wilson getting laid and lying to him about it. And if they showed us that sexual relationship, I'd be thrilled. But they won't, and that's why I pray they will never, ever make it onscreen canon.

yeah, there's actually a lot more to "dark!wilson" than just rapefics... that's one thing that stuck out to me about this secret... if you don't like rapefics, nothing wrong with that... but not all dark!wilson fic fits that category...

i think i know the fic they're referring to and it's actually a very well-written, good fic... the reason house is mentally handicapped in the fic is as a result of the deep brain stimulation at the end of season 4... he didn't come out of it okay like in canon... so there's sort of a reason for it...
