... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice.

Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made. I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I loved the first season and a half of Thirteen's era. Really I loved all of the first two seasons except the big reveal that changed Who lore. But I still haven't watched her last season. It came out in a particularly stressful time in my life, and I haven't been able to go back and watch. I don't know if I'm going to be able before the special comes out, and that makes me sad.

I have mixed feelings about the animated Babylon 5 reboot. On the one hand, I can't imagine B5 without G'Kar. On the other hand, even animated, I can't imagine anyone else playing him. So I can't see it working either way.

I admit I've only taken criticism of Amazon's Shiny Happy People seriously thanks to the Antibot. The Antibot's video covering Paul and Morgan's involvement being strangely edited is so far the most convincing point made that this docuseries is not as straightforward as it should have been given the topic (IBLP).

I was never really a Firefly fan. I watched it once to see what the fuss was about. It was okay.

But what I did fall in love with was the found-family dynamic between the characters. I’m not sure why, because I know I must have seen plenty of other close friend groups in media before, but somehow I latched onto that one.

Years and years later, long after it stopped being cool to say it, I still yearn for my own Serenity.

look reimage greek or roman myth all you want. it's fun, it's free, it's very much a foundation of western imagination.

but i do not believe any of the recent authors doing "progressive" imaginations have read even a translation of the greek or roman sources of the myths. i don't believe they have could distinguish hesiod from ovid, i don't care what they say. that one author definitely admitted it, but i don't believe any of the others have any knowledge either.

(not about madeleine miller, whose writing i do not like but at least knows her shit)

I always think up great secrets just as I'm drifting off to sleep, but in the mornings I forget them all. It would probably be a good idea to write them down, but I'm incredibly lazy.

The thing that makes me most joyful nowadays is those tiktokers and instagrammers that pretend to be studio musicians or background singers reacting to lyrics of famous pop stars and rappers like they're in session for the first time and just heard them. There's absolutely no skill involved, it doesn't really make any sense, and they're just copying each other...but i crack up every time.

I'm asexual, have never had sex myself, and have written maybe two or three paragraphs of smut in three decades in fandom. I like reading it well enough, but I've never really been interested in writing it, even the kind of ship fic where a lot of how a pairing works (or doesn't) is shown with sex scenes, even though those are more my speed than PWP and encompass some of my favorite fics.

It's harder (har har) for me to get right than tab A/slot B, which is more "okay, now where are their hands?" and "Is that even anatomically possible?" than "what do they think about when doing the do and what does that say about them?"

But I want to try to learn, now, just because so many LLM "AI" chatbots have restrictions against generating it. Well-written smutfic might soon be the text equivalent of drawing really realistic hands, and for longer than it took for artbots to improve their output on that score, since it's a restriction on what people can get AI to spit out for fear of spooking corporate clients, and not something chatbots just inherently can't do.

I do fear/wonder how long it'll be before some porn company that can afford the computing power trains an AI on erotica and sets it to churning out shitty smut, though. Sigh.

My mom was a fandom person. She loved watching TV Shows and bought magazines, VHS etc.
As a small kid I wasn't allowed to watch with her - only when I was older. I really enjoyed the time we spent together watching Hercules, or Xena. I loved Xena&Gabrielle. (I think that was my baby queer awakening)

I'd LOVE to rewatch Xena as an adult and getting the show would not be nearly as hard as it was getting VHS back in the day....
But I am afraid it won't hold up to the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia and the idea of the show thats still imprinted on my brain from childhood.

This is what I get for using Pornhub 🤢

Was browsing Pornhub in the "Parody" category and I think Brad Jones of all fucking people has a channel there. Not because he's making his own stuff (I hope and pray) but the video link looked like the uncensored version of his review for a Batman porn parody (meaning the cuts of the porn he used in his review are unblurred).

I really hate being recc'd anything relating to Doug Walker and/or Brad Jones. I honestly give no shits what they do now. Just leave me alone. T.T
It's annoying on YouTube and now I have to worry about this shit on Pornhub?

Part of me will always hate the Good Omens TV adaptation for a very petty reason. IMO, the only acceptable way to start a GO adaptation is with Seven Seas of Rhye, and the only acceptable closing music is You're My Best Friend.

I always wanted another Godzilla animated show, and I know we had Planet Godzilla and Godzilla: Singular Point, but I always wanted to know, what would the Studio Ghibli Godzilla look like? Can I have that?

Everyone talks about how Optimus Prime's death in the '86 Transformers movies shocked a generation of kids, but it never got me. I always knew that character's like Optimus liked to make heroic sacrifices, it was Ironhide and Starscream's deaths that always got me. They were the sort of supporting characters who always made it through. Especially Ironhide's, that just seemed so cruel.

I think GI Joe just sounds dumb. They should use the European name of Action Force instead. It is a little generic, but it isn't as stupid sounding as GI Joe. I'm convinced the dumb name is why the franchise keeps failing to take off.

I love that the prison uniforms from Andor were specifically designed to make them so uncomfortable that nobody would ever cosplay them. I love, specifically, just how much they underestimated the Star Wars fanbase's love of getting in on the goofiness, as my last SFF con experience attests to. They almost outnumbered the Deadpool cosplayers. I think I might even have seen a Deadpool cosplayer wearing one.

(rather than start a throw away account on reddit I figured I'd go here.)

I live in a city where the average rent for a studio appt is 1k/month, for context. We (spouse + me) have a 3 bedroom house and we've rented out a room to various friends for 600/month for several years. Then we had our first current roommate move in. At the start they had a good job with a video commute, but after a few months they couldn't work. Bummer, but they had savings to live off of. Then they decided they'd sell handmade things on etsy and/or draw fan art. As they ran out of savings my spouse cut their rent to 400, then 300. This roommate applied for disability (pending) and food stamps and offered to cover 100 in rent with food (which, like, didn't feel great to me because we share a ton of food/meals but whatever times are tough). Due to the disability (which I don't mean to doubt, but the timing is pretty sus right?) they don't do any housekeeping, even cleaning up after their own dishes. A sibling helps them with rent and spending money.

Then this roommate's sibling (different one) was in a rough way, and naturally we let them stay for a few weeks. They moved into a different shared home but then lost their job and moved in with us again. Eventually this became permanent and because they were in such a rough way they paid nothing except the odd 50 a month. They'd hit up food banks and that'd be helpful because I guess their food stamps haven't gone through. They help take care of the first roommate and occasionally take out the trash or do the dishes. I'm assuming they have some kind of disability that hurts their job prospects but I don't really care to ask. (It's personal and I'm introverted.)

The problem is, we're digging into our savings to keep going. And I'm kind of sick of feeling like I'm supporting people who moved in here and gave up on supporting themselves. They need to get their collective shit together or move in with another sibling or something so we can get in roommates who can pay a reasonable rent. Or at least we can stop feeding them. They'll offer to get groceries and just *not* for a month so I don't even rely on that.

I think I need to give them a 3 month deadline to really start contributing or find another living situation, and then another 3 months for officially kicking them out. (our state laws are pretty generous for tenants, which is a good thing I just need to get rolling.) They're both much closer with my spouse so I'll need to win them over too.

So, I ask you F!s, how big of an asshole am I?
