I see the Brooklyn Brewery does a beer called Stonewall Inn which is decorated in rainbow colors, is this just a bit of corporate nonsense or does the company actually do any LGBT+ support?

Is anyone else's hobby creating fictional countries and political systems for your own amusement?

Just me, okay.

I kinda prefer doing vaguely Ruritanian monarchies, but I do like to venture into Roman-ish republics from time to time too.

I used to when I was younger and had more free time. I still got a notepad full of fictional maps I drew with different climates and cities/countries somewhere.

I love making fantasy maps, and often I find myself going too deep with the backstory for the settlements and towns and where people live and what creatures live where. Idk if I've ever focused on the politics much though.

Doing a Fantasy Egypt is the hardest, if you are trying to make it not too much of a copy of actual Egypt.

Without the precise shape of the Med and the bulk of Eurasia and Africa, you just can't really get The isolation of The Nile and Desert to work. But if you do have that, it is too obviously Ancient Egypt at that point.

That sounds like a neat hobby, honestly. I've sort of given it some thought in the larger context of world building for fantasy novels but I feel so awkward trying to copy the elements from real life/history that I like without it being too much like the country itself.

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

P.S. Please don't worry if you've submitted a secret and it hasn't been posted yet. I usually post these threads before running out of the previous batch of secrets to get a head start on the next batch.

How the fuck is John Cleese so uniformed about his own career? The man thinks Basil Fawlty was in the right, and that Reg [for Secret Maker, character in Life of Brian], was a lone voice of reason. He even thinks his character in Clockwise was just "an ordinary bloke, pushed too far". How can he manage to be so funny, but have so little self-insight?

I never really liked Angel, ever. The whole mysterious brooding guy never did it for me. Even before all the revelations about him.

I love Mercedes Lackey's Dragon Jouster series of books. Ancient Egypt, with Dragons. What is not to like?

I think rather than shows hiring a new creative team for future seasons, the whole show should be cancelled. It's never the same once new people come on board.

Case in point, Sleepy Hollow.

Yesterday my jaw kind of hurt (in the same area I had my first wisdom tooth pulled) and I went to bed hoping it would be better when I woke up. It isn't better but it isn't worse. Hoping it is TMJ but worried I'll need another wisdom tooth pulled. I've never had dental anxiety before but now I'm afraid to make an appointment. This one is sideways so I know it will be a lot harder to remove. :(

Do you do anything with your non-dominant hand?

I've switched to using the mouse with my non-dominant hand it's relieved some stress on my dominant hand/wrist/shoulder, plus it's oddly fun. It's not that hard but just tricky enough that it presents a fun kind of challenge.
