<sub>why did you remind me of the TV show though, that was awful and I think Animorphs would fare so much better if it was an anime . . .

And before anyone jumps on me, it's because I don't think they'd have the budget to make the effects look good unless they made it into a movie, but if they made it into a movie they'd have to cut a bunch of shit out. Therefore, it needs to be animated, and I think the animation company that really has the potential to make it look fantastic is Mad House. Thus, anime.

Then again, the Supernatural anime was awful, but . . . that's a different beast altogether and isn't really Mad House's work. After all, the animation in the Supernatural anime was gorgeous. It's just that the plot was a fuck.</sub>

Surely you jest? Watchman is one of the most profound contemporary novels I can think of. (You know it's a piece of art when it's discussed as an actual piece of literature rather than just another graphic novel.) So there's no shame in Having A Lot Of Feelings about it. It's well known for giving people feelings.

Re: the opening — I still think it's one of the best movie intros I've ever seen, and it makes me wibbly.

Oh, that book I throughly enjoyed.

The Wise Man's Fear however? Do not even get me started. Trust me, all of the issues you have with the first book just get 2372345634876592378459327485692 times worse in the second. And I couldn't even enjoy the writing tone and language like I did in the first one because he dicked about with it too much, and made it even more pretentious, and look at me.

And nothing happened in the plot. Like I didn't feel the character advanced AT ALL. And just urgh.

So part agree if you wrote this about the second book OP.

I ploughed through that series while waiting for the next Otherland book to come out when I was a teenager. I totally and completely agree with you; it's a horrible mess of cliches and boring characters. I still can't believe I managed to get through all of it; shows how bored I was.

It's just... I don't get it. Is fandom supposed to be this huge time-consuming thing? I'm online quite a bit, but eh, other people watch TV or read or do whatever, too. Nobody spends their day 100% in social situations, I assume? So... what's hindering you from checking on your fandom friend's an hour or half an hour a day or even every couple of day?

It's not like "real life" and fandom are mutually exclusive. ._. *feels like having said this for the umpteenth time now*

See, I think you'd be hard pressed to find many actors openly stating that opinion, OP. They might personally agree with you, but professionally, dissing the Academy probably doesn't win you a lot of job offers. Same reason that when an actor is in a shitty movie, you'll never hear them say, "yeah that was a shitty movie and I regret being in it".

Some parts of Pokemon fandom still can't seem to understand that Kotone/Lyra's name is not "Soul," or that the HeartGold/SoulSilver rival is not named "Silver" -- he's just a nameless rival that will be named either "Heart" or "Soul" depending on which version you're playing if you don't give him a name.

But then, I still tend to call White/Touko/Whitlea/Hilda "Whitlea" (or "Lea" for short) in my fics, so I'm not really one to talk. :P

I kind of balance things out by hanging out on FARK. I get all the male online company I could possibly want there. It is interesting to see the differences between a female dominated space and a male dominated space.

It would be nice if there were more guys, on the other hand, I like what women can come up with when they are the dominant voice.
